The Big House on the hill dream with the white pickett fence can be achieved today if you want to work at it. Frankly I don't want that, I am still working on my dream, and along the way I am trying to make the world a better place, by volunteering, giving, and as the Bible says by Loving my neighbour as thyself. If I can achieve all that, I will have had a pretty good life.

it would depend on your ambition for a better life. if you are content with what life gives you at the moment then in some way you have achieved your own American Dream.
