Ok, so I've been told that as long as you play slots or table games at the casinos in Vegas you get free drinks. Well my question is what kind of drinks can you order?

I've never been to Vegas. If I had then I would know the answer to my question. I'm not trying to buck the system. I'm planning on going there this summer and I don't want to sound stupid if I'm playing and I'm asked about drinks.

Most places on The Strip give you free drinks if you are actively playing a slot or a table, however, the MGM only gives free drinks to people at tables not at the bars gambling.

What can you order? Beer on tap or bottle/can, bottled water, bar drinks like tomato and vodka, bourbon and soda/rocks, etc., but nothing really expensive like champagne or very expensive bourbon.
BTW if you want to ensure more free drinks, make sure you tip/toke for each drink? How much? $1 is average, especially if there are two of you.

Enjoy your visit to my city. And make sure you join the "players club" for special benefits like 2/1 buffet or comps to shows if you spend enough.

They really are not free since oyur playing and more than likely losing, plus you tip the waitress. You can usually get domestic beer and maybe some of the cheaper imported beers and most mix drinks. What the call a fountian drink. Its premixxed by computer, fairly weak and uses more of the cheaper types of booze, lik eif you order a bourbon and 7 you would get the cheap bourbon, say 7 and 7 and you would get seagrems. your not going to get the premium stuff on the free drinks, if you order something premium the waitress will tell you there is a charge for it. You can also get sodas an water or fruit juice if you want.

Of course if your a high roller, what they call a whale and your playing on a $10,000 table I'm sure you can get the good stuff.

this is what i love about vegas! one year we got free drinks alot! the next time is was not as often. You play the penny slots you wont get served as much. Play the tables you might get served more. during the week and late in the AM on weekends is your best chance. the more you tip the more she comes around obviously. I played $3 or $5 craps one trip and she kept coming around before i finished my Corona! depends on the place to. crappy hotels downtown that arnt on the main street there, isnt alot of people and we drank a ton all day played $2 tables and had a good time. i ended up winnning 200-300 manily on table games and that paid for the hotel, all kinds of buffets, and entertainment. If cheap gaming and drinks is your idea of a good time like mine to to El Cortez downtown or casino royale or excalibur.

Yes, you are given free drinks while you gamble, and it's not cheating the system because the casino wants you to continue gambling and perhaps get a little drunk and loose your inhibitions... believe me if giving out free drinks didn't serve in the casino's interest then they wouldn't do it. Also, drinks at bars can be pretty expensive... a double Jim Beam and coke at Caesar's Palace can range from $16 to $22 depending at which bar you're at. When ordering your free ones while gambling, tip the waitresses well and they will return often, and I usually order doubles when getting cocktails. Have fun!

As long as you are sitting at a gaming station - either machine or a table, you get complimentary beverages. You can order pretty much anything - from bottled water, coffee, or soft drinks to a glass of wine or a margarita. Just be sure to tip your cocktail server. If you plan on playing and drinking for a while tip well on your first round - it'll pretty much guarantee they'll come back to you. Oh, and if you're winning tip a little better too! =)

Depends how much money you're spending, honey.

Just go to a bar and pay for your own; you'll be better off then trying to buck the system and make out with "free" drinks.

Have you even BEEN to Vegas? When and if you go, look around. That town was paid for by losers drinking "free" drinks.
