Play some music while you clean, or turn on the TV.. if there's nothing on TV to watch, put in a movie : )
or you could always talk to a friend on speakerphone.

When I am cleaning my bedroom, I put all of the clothes that need to be put away on my bed (EVERY ITEM). That way I am not wandering from spot to spot picking up things and I can just keep going from the bed to the closet or dresser. I also crank the radio... the TV distracts me and before too long, I start watching it. Do one room at a time and don't skip all over! And order pizza!!!!

Have it set in your mind what you are going to do and get it done! Just think of what it will look like when you are done, and how it's going to be so worth cleaning. Make it fun for yourself. Do it slowly, so you don't get frustrated and discouraged.... good luck!

P.S If you haven't used it in 6 months or more, you probably will never use it again, so throw it out!!! :)

playing music helps me too, but movies/tv can be a distraction. just pick everything up and put it in its place. whats trash throw away and what u cant find a place for put it in a bag for after u cleanup. Then u can vacuum, scrub, mop or whatever.

set goals.
like, if i clean up I can watch a movie or buy a new cd.
or even mental goals. I know it feels so much better to fall asleep in a clean room--so i try to remind myself. grab a soda, hit play and get to work girl! :)

One room at a time, starting with a corner and working out. At least, once you throw away everything that is broken or otherwise garbage.

That way it won't seem overwhelming.
