I am currently reading the play "Othello" and need some help on what the theme of the play is. I was told that the play was a metaphor for love brings harmony, but i don't think so. If anyone could just give me an idea of what they think the theme is, that would be great.

I think you're right to doubt that the play is essentially about love and harmony. There's certainly intense love between Othello and Desdemona, but love is not the only force at work in the play. There's also envy, manipulation, and jealousy. Iago may be an even more important character than Othello, and Othello's murderous jealousy may be a bigger deal than his love.
