It appears that I ovulated around day 21-22 of my cycle based on cervical mucous and a rise in basal body temperature. I had sex using a condom on day 23 and experienced cramping 9 days later (about the time implantation might occur). It is now day 39 (17-18 days after suspected ovulation) and I still have not had my period. I took a pregnancy test today, which turned out negative. I am breastfeeding my 13-1/2 month old, but have already ovulated two other times, followed by periods within a completely normal amount of time.

Yes, after pregnacy your body doesn't return to normal. Just because you've had two periods already doesn't mean that your flow will still be the same. I am a irregular person by genetics. Your body just maybe changing even though you had two periods already. If you have history or normal periods and it gets to be a month you should ask your doctor. It could also be as "side effect" of breast feeding. I don't think its anything to be concerned about but if it persists you should consult a doctor.

Yes, stress can also cause a period to be delayed by a week or two.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
