Lol... ghetto! You shouldn't get a pet to demonstrate your maschismo, it doesn't work.

If you want the most dangerous snake, why are you going with the Mamba? It is actually pretty low on the list.
I am assuming you mean the snake with the most toxic venom, which is the Inland Taipan from Australia.
Other highly toxic snakes include, ranked by LD50g/kg subcutaneously (the smaller the number, the more toxic the venom is):
Inland Taipan- 0.025
Eastern Brown- 0.0365
Dubois Sea Snake- 0.044
Yellow-belly Sea Snake- 0.067
Horned Sea Snake- 0.079
Coastal Taipan- 0.107
In fact, there are 16 other species of snakes with venom more toxic than the Black Mamba at 0.32
Maybe you mean the snake that kills the most people? That would be the Indian or Forest cobras, followed by things like the Fer-de-lance and other species that live near people- which the shy mambas do not.
How about the snake that professional keepers fear the most? King Cobra for the most part, but this is a personal question, not a scientific one.
There is no way to righteously call any mamba 'the most dangerous snake'.
Just FYI- dozens of herp keepers get bitten by their own snakes every year. In fact, more keepers are hospitalized from being bitten by their own snakes most years in the US than from people being bitten in the wild.
Before you do this, you should get training... insurance (you will be liable for anyone who gets bitten by your snake if it gets out- and they always do)... check your lease and local laws... make sure someone locally carries FRESH antivenin (and check out the cost of the stuff!)... talk to the local animal control people who will be called in to rescue you if you get bitten and the animal is loose (you DID know that the paramedics will not touch you until the animal is under control, right?)
Keeping venomous (hot) herps is a fascinating part of the hobby, but it takes some real knowledge and planning on the keeper's part.

Ah, one of my favorite snakes. Very attractive and interesting. As far as going about getting one, they're native to Africa, so you may run into that issue. Some are wild caught and others are bred in captivity and that's usually how one goes about getting this creature. In the States, I'm not sure where you would look. Perhaps asking the local zoo? And please do as much research as humanly possible before you decide on trying to obtain one. They are very intelligent and very, very fast. If I were you, I would settle for a different type of snake. The chances of obtaining one is quite slim, in my opinion.

Yup.

They sell mambas, about $400 a piece.
You need to have a permit to own venemous reptiles in most places. In some states, its completely illegal-no permits required.
