government doesnt pay for anything. The only money they have is the citizens money. So you are paying for it not the government.
And despite private companies ripping off the consumer as you say, they are more efficient at it than the government is and there is a track record to prove it. So the government takes your money and wastes most ofit while it rips you off.
Some people would rather be ripped off by private companies.

And you don't think the government gets ripped off.
Remember it is the US Government that paid $150,000 for a toilet seat cover.
We are not afraid of the government paying for stuff. They do it all the time on things that you need a government to pay for stuff like police and fire.
But it has been shown time an time again that the government does not spend wisely, that to fix a problem they just throw money at it.
Private business is about making a profit, and to make a profit they must provide a service or item that is better then their competitors. This competition not only creates innovation it generates a price that is generally fair.
Yes private companies tend to try to rip off consumers, but when someone else come out with a product that is superior, companies that give people the shaft tend to flal by the wayside. While those that treat their customers fairly earn the rewards.
So given a choice between the private companies and the government spending, give me private every time.

My god you must be a genius. The part about corporations ripping us off that is. It is not that Americans are afraid, rather they have been drum beaten into believing if we have social programs the economy will suffer. And if you look back in history the same "kind" of players were at the helm against everything from the Tennessee valley authority and the New Deal, that brought us our interstate highway system and social security to Medicaid and Medicare.
Sociopath....It has been proven that corporations when given "no bid government contracts" are more wasteful and less inefficient than the government.
To clarify for the duh guy (Paul) below me, corporations rip tax payers off through their manipulation of government with lobbyists and earmarked pork projects and other stuff that is very obvious like the contractors in Iraq that have billed us billions for nothing accomplished.
Qbeing...those 150,000 dollar toilet seats (under Donald Rumsfeld and the Reagan admin) again private corporations billing the government.

Where do they get the money to pay for "stuff"?
Print it? No, they passed off that responsibility years ago, to the Federal Reserve.
They have to steal it.
If a private company rips you off, would you deal with that company again?
The governent has collected trillions of dollars in Social Security taxes and has paid out a fraction of that in payments.
Where's the surplus?
The war on poverty has cost trillions, yet the number of poor remains the same.
If government were a business, it would have died years ago, yet you appear to be ready to stand in line to get ripped off by government again and again... ad infinitum.
Oh, and those $150,000 toilet seat covers; you don't really expect Black Ops to show up on an itemized expenditure list, do you?
Better to look like an idiot than be one and put all your military secrets out there available under the "freedom of information act" to any enemy "joe blow" who files for information.

not in any respect not in any respect not in any respect provide up a lot skill to the authorities. enable me ask you - if socialized well being care passes - and also you're unhappy with, lets say - no longer being coated for some thing ... who the heck are you gonna whinge to? the authorities pricey - is unapproachable. company rules are replaced somewhat, yet regulations are not any more. you're stuck, and sick. you think that you'll basically get some thing for loose. That word provides orgasms to liberals. yet its no longer loose, and it is going to likely be run by ability of the most dysfunctional employer in American heritage ... the authorities. In large Britain there change right into a tale the position the authorities, who runs socialized well being care - took a fat youngster from his relations domicile for being fat. the authorities has this way of skill. Michelle Obama might want to have fat Czar's knocking at your door if she had the skill. do not provide it to her.

Simple truth is this who can we trust. Politicians are crooked in The United States anymore. I mean look at hilary everybody wants to vote for her anymore yet she eats up all special interest money and front flat faced said it to the american people and actually tried getting them to believe that special interest and bundlers were in best interest of the people. This is why america and many of us are scared of goverment paying for us whos to say one min. this and the next special interest saise lets raise the prices
