Carlos Beltran - a career .280 hitter who strikes out over 100 times a season, and steals only about 17 bases a year, and is injured a lot.

or

Dontrelle Willis - Decent numbers, but not close to what you would call a solid #1 pitcher

I guess legends do die - because calling Beltran the best base stealer of all time made me almost die laughing.
And he is not a solid 5 tool player. That gets thrown around WAY too much.
And lastly - he does not hit around .280 - 330. Hit hits around .280. That is why his lifetime average is .280.
And Georgie - look around the last 2 weeks. People think he is a #1 pitcher worth giving up the farm for. That is why I question him being over-rated.

Both of them suck. I was on the Willis bandwagon a few years ago but its been a few since he's looked good. Beltran got his big contract and then got FAT.

Carlos Beltran is actually a pretty good ball player who can hit .280-.330 and he smacks out 25+ homeruns a year with 80+ RBI. Yes, I do know he doesn't steal a lot either, and this guy is not a true hall of famer.

Dontrelle Willis had 1 good year, where he had 22 wins in 2005, but ever since that this guy can't get more wins than losses. He's still only 25 and it seems he had his prime when he was 23 for only 1 year. He's no longer a good pitcher, yet analists still cower over his "fantastic" pitching...Fantastic? Please.

More Overrated: Dontrelle Willis.

Beltran...

what ya talking 'bout willis?

Whoever said Willis was a #1 starter?
Maybe on the Rays he owuld be, or even the white sox.

But on a team like The Tigers he'd be a great #3 or #4 starter.

I'd love to have Dontrell Willis on my team.

The past 2 years Beltran has 71 HR, 228 RBI, 41 SB, and an average of .275. Also his feilding percentage is over .990 and has only missed a little over 20 games each season. So how the hell do you think Beltran is overated? He is a 5 tool player and one of the best center feilders in the game today.

Dontrelle Willis more overrated. he had a pretty bad season this year too. the only year where he was what you would say a #1 pitcher was in 2005 where he won over 20 games.

This isn't close. Beltran is a solid 5 tool everyday player. Teams would line up to get him. Willis is the more overrated. He has only had one real good year.

Carlos Beltran is a pretty good ballplayer.

Dontrelle Willis used to be. I think he is one of the most over-rated players in the game

They are pretty close but I would vote Beltran as being just a little more over-rated than Willis...but you can really make a good case for both of them.

This isn't a fair question Willis is by far more overrated. Beltran is a solid 5 tool player who does it all. No comparison. Willis only had the one good year. Beltran is the most sucessful basestealer of all time. He never gets thrown out.

Well Dwight I would say Beltran is more overrated people refer to him as an elite outfielder when Nick Markakis had a better year then him this year

DTrain was very overrated when he first came into the league but I think people have realized that his talent level is nowhere near where they thought it was
