The supernatural explanation is hard to believe while objective reality is easier to swallow....albeit less enjoyable or comforting....

I can understand your confusion on this subject, that's for sure! Believe it or not, I was only in #rd grade when I decided that there couldn't really be any god(s). We were learning about dinosaurs at the time, and even at that early age, I KNEW that the fossil records had to be true in their portrayal of earth's history. After all, the fossil record went back hundreds of millions of years, but I knew that the bible was only a few thousand years old, and had been written by mere men. As for what each person chooses to believe in, that is a very, very personal decision that we each must make for ourselves. It is a little-known fact, but the Big-Bang theory was postulated by a PRIEST! Although I accept the Bing-Bang theory as the best explanation for how our Universe came into being, I will readily admit that I find it harder to believe sometimes than what a religious person has to believe when they accept that a god created it all! Never argue with someone about religion or creationism. You will never change their mind about what they believe, and their "faith" truly is a gift, regardless of where it comes from. Always respect another person's belief-system.

I find it hard to understand why someone hasn't come up with a philosophy that incorporates both. (or maybe I just haven't found it yet!)

I, personally (JUST MY VIEW), don't view the teachings of the Bible completely in a literal sense (i know, that may damn me to an eternal hell!). However, I also don't view evolution as proof that GOD does not exist.

My GOD is capable of creating evolution...

The bible is a collection of books that were put together by man. The texts we read (or, I can read, at least) are not in the original language... so some of these things that we take as GOD's word, could also be misinterpretted in the translation.

I am a strong believer in science and evolution, because science is based upon testable theories and a culmination of human knowledge that continually grows and is re-challenged and re-tested over time.

I believe in GOD because every time I get to a point where it all starts to come together - life's epiphanies, if you will, I am usually awed to the point, where there is no other answer but GOD; when this happens the only thing I can say is, "Oh my GOD!"

It sounds silly... I know. I find it hard to believe myself and I am the one experiencing it. It's hard to explain in words... if you have never felt it... but that feeling is why I believe in my spirituality; even though I will usually take the scientific stance in my arguments; and will come off as anti-religous.

Considering we share a high percentage of DNA with all animals...and the 1% difference is not anything that matters.

We found a fragment of a bone and it is human? Yo know most early hominid fossils have turned out to be other things (pigs, monkeys, etc.)

As a scientist, I used to belief evolution and all that went with it. Even when I became a Christian I had a hard time with the Genesis story. But the more I studied I found that the Word of God was true and the "science" of evolution is false. They cannot prove anything. And the more they try the more they prove out the Bible.

But you have to have faith my friend.

"If I had no other data than the early chapters of Genesis, some of the Psalms and other passages of Scripture, I would have arrived at essentially the same picture of the origin of the universe, as is indicated by the scientific data." Actual Religion is a Science. Darwin's theory was incomplete. According to the Ancient Vedic wisdom, (The original "How to" books given by God, at the time of Creation. We are not these material bodies, IE; race, color, nationality, religion, mind, intellect, job, etc. We are all eternal Spirit Souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Rama, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies. After falling from the spiritual Kingdom of God due to envying His position we transmigrate through 8,400,000 species of life (amoebas, aquatics, plants, insects, reptiles, birds, animals and humans. When we reach the human form of life we have the intelligence to question our existence and relationship to God and Pray for Him to guide us to the knowledge how to return Home. For information on this topic read The Science of Self Realization by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada and The Hidden History of the Human Race by Michael A. Cremo. This has heaps of archaeological findings that man existed even millions of years ago and way more advanced in every respect. No monkey men or cave men.

Science, personally, but mostly because I was raised that way.
Religion always seemed illogical to me. If god created everything, where did god come from? There is no definite answer, but I am secure in my faith in Darwin and the atom.
However, its up to you. You could combine them, and say that god caused evolution. Religions, in their purest form, are basically a set of rules for living well; don't kill, don't lie, don't steal.
You don't have to justify your beliefs to anyone, and questioning them will only make them stronger.

Both can be an answer. I believe in god and science...It is only right to believe in both. Yes god is good, n great n unpredictable but so is science. Maybe Science is God and we just don't know it. If God gave us life and Knowlege then how does Science even come about. Easy....We know how things work. God gives us the knowlege to know that. So that is probly the hardest questions ever but the answer for me remains BOTH>

Ken, they are not mutually exclusive. But you will have to find your own way. I believe in God, but I also believe that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old and I believe in evolution. I just believe that God was the first cause that got it all rolling. It is possible to reconcile belief and fact. But you'll have to do it in your own frame work.
