Better add some comments about why the student received a C+ instead of an A. If I were mom this is what I would expect from a teacher. HAte it when a teacher just gives a grade and never bothers to take the time to tell me why the grade dropped.
OR I hate it when a teacher don't know how to SPELL your childs name by the middle of the school year. this says lots about the teacher!

What if I am homeschooled? Wouldn't they already know? And if just got a C+, I guess it would all depend on what I got the C+ in. If I was a male in homemaking, I don't think parents would care as much as if it were in mathematics. Cause we all know that women belong in the kitchen. Not men. Cause I am a sexist pig and need to be branded with a hot iron. By a woman obviously cause an iron is part of a womans homemaking job. Thanks and have a nice day cookiewarmer.

I was a 65-70 student when I was in high school. =p
And no..my mother never called the school for that =D
The only reason I'm working hard to get A's now is because I'm paying for college..and it actually means something =)

No, i would talk to the student and see from their point of view what happened and does the student want help with understanding the subject and if i can help in any ways.

not if they saw that there was a reason, like the answer was of bad quality or wrong! but if they are serious about it, and the kid is a straight A student for a reason, they might want to know.

um, probably not. but you would probably get some emails because i am a straight a student and getting anything lower than a b+ is not acceptable in my book.

Nah. I just give them a good excuse why, and they give me a mean face and talk about working hard, or tell them all the reasons why the teacher is incompetent, and we leave it at that.
