English isn't everyone's first language buddy. It is the WORLD wide web, not AOL. I'd love to see your perfect diction and phrasing, your perfect grasp of the grammatical nuances if this post were in GErman, Spanish or Mandarin.

For the record, your question is poorly written. Oh the irony!

Following up...tail between my legs. After an hour trawling through Yahoo Questions, I must say that I have changed my mind. You are right. I am wrong. They non English speakers aside, the quality of language from the Americans, Canadians, Brits and Aussies is at times so shocking as to make me despair!!!!!

I completely agree with you! Not only do I see bad grammar, spelling and sentence structure in people's questions and answers, many of these individuals are proud of it! I answered a similar question to this last week, and I answered, in part, "If things continue at this rate [with spelling errors, grammar mistakes, bad sentence structure and overuse of abbreviations], what will the state of the English language be in fifty or one hundred years?

People seem to think that the old rules don't apply on the internet. They do. People still appreciate good spelling, proper grammar and puncutation.
