My father got me my first Saturday job. It was part time Morning only and I earned the same as my friends were earning for a full days work. I worked in Oxford St, London, they worked in suburbia. I earned a whole £1 (it was the mid sixties though) Its buying power - I could ice skate at least 3 times a week, or cinema, or swim or disco. It went a long way back then - and you got 2.4 US$ to 1 English Pound then! Similar to now!

your title should be that have moved out of the house ... I still live in my house, but my job pays $6.50 an hour, like most of the other places around town... I'm fixing to ask for a raise though to $6.75 what a difference huh?

hmm. i got paid 5.15 hr and worked at grocery store cashier but thats when 5.15 was the min. wage now its a lil higher i think..if you get over min. wage thats pretty good. it sucks but min. wage is what to expect at 16..

oh and after moving out i worked at retail for 7.75. then moved on to waitressing. which the pay depended on my tips but it was ok money. but i lived with my boyfriend..could have never paid the bills on my own..stay in schooll... make more money.

i made $2.00 (two dollars) per hour on my first job. at ponderosa steakhouse bussing tables. In 1976. I went and filled out an application.

First job after i went to college, tutoring and grading papers. don't remember the salary.
