I don't like the term "head of the household" (in an ideal world, men aren't "the boss"; they're on equal footing with their partners), but I've noticed what you've noticed: the shift from misogyny to misandrism.
I looked into it - there's actually a website, http://www.fathersandhusbands.org/ , which was founded "in response to the increasing prevalence of negative representations of fathers, husbands and men in the mass media."

Wow, you noticed that too? For a while there I thought I was pretty much the only one....most other women I mention that to are like, "Whaaaaaat? I've never noticed that."
Yeah, that really bothers me. I hate Hollywood's presentation of many things. I hate the fact that fathers in particular are always portrayed as stupid, lazy, fat and ugly, etc. etc. Makes me sick, because it's not true. I don't like watching it. My husband is the sole breadwinner in our home, and he is reliable, hardworking, strong in character, very smart, and hot too (lol that's a bonus eh?). He's the opposite of most of the guys on tv. I also hate the way stay-at-home Moms are portrayed as controlling and moody and emotionally manipulative to their hubbys - that's not the way it is in this house! And I really hate the way Hollywood portrays Christians. Totally wrong.

I never been married, but I can say the guys I co-habit with before are not real men.
But it does bother me because despite my having been with no-so-nice partners, I know better than to think all men are horrible! I have an uncle, and once he called his wife, and ended the phone call with I love you and I miss you. I have another uncle, his brother, and he was kind enough to clean and cook this one kind of food for the holidays. When he gets married, instead of havng his fiancee move into his apartment, he is moving into her house. And sits for his stepson while she works on the days she has her son.
I once knew a local musician ,a local to my former resident area, and he's only in his mid-20s. He's been with the same woman since college, and MAN, he's a TOTAL prince! He treats his now wife like his equal partner, and he NEVER disrespects women. Despite being a musician and having platonic female friends, he's TOTALLY devoted to his wife.. He was the ONE guy where whenever I had problems with other guys, I can EASILY confide in him, and he understood. He even thinks it's great I stand up for myself and won't take sutff off guys.
So, there are sweet as apple pie men, who cares deeply for women, and would NOT dream of dominating or treating a woman like she's without rights. I will happily acknowledge that!
BOTH genders are poorly described!

The courts do the same when there is a domestic between a man and a woman... automatically the man is the guilty dog. The man is not judged as an individual, but as man -basically like a dog. I know it's hash.... but that's the way I see the corrupted courts. Lot's of these men are prejudged before court due to the police that lie to cover their mistakes.

The Bible says that the man is to be the head of the home and lead the family. That is why I don't like beer commericals because the make the men look stupid and weak and with no common sense.
Satan likes to pervert what God creates and that is why I no longer watch these so called comedies on TV.
Sad to say nowadays theres very few things on TV worth watching.

Oh no you didn't!!!! YOU need to take a deep breath, chill out and get a life of your own instead of snooping on other people. Play with fire - you're gonna get burned! And you did! You obviously hate your family and your "good for nothing husband" (your words, not mine) so why the hell would you want the others to go and leave the two of you to your lives???? Seems to me you want all of them gone! Grow up, start being polite and move on! Seriously!

I would say that ratings seem to dictate what's shown. I mean, if the man is kind, caring, loving, a good husband and father, that equals boring, right?
What you're describing gets people talking, watching and therefore, ratings go up. It's not an accurate perception of my man, not by a LONG SHOT.

I don't watch much television at all but I think both genders are usually unfairly represented in the shows. They want ratings and the darker side of things is usually more interesting and draws a bigger crowd so they exploit that more than showing the truth.
My husband is nothing like television shows.

Most Sitcom shows are about an out of shape, hen-pecked dummy with a semi-hot wife who's love he doesn't deserve. I don't watch sitcoms anymore.
