I mean seriously, Rex had a good game, woulda been great if his recievers didnt dropp so many passes and the horrible offensive line could hold a block OR create running lanes, all 3 of those were non-existent....

yes, the OL is holding their offense back. it's old, and will take a long time to rebuild it. their receivers are decent, they have the deep threat in Berrian, and a dependable receiver in Muhammed. the OL just doesn't provide Grossman the time to drive down the field. teams have figured out how to beat their defense, which is why their defense isn't succeeding either. Bears need to undergo serious rebuilding. it should have been expected after your Super Bowl loss, because history shows the same pattern nearly everytime. the team that loses the Super Bowl the year before struggles the following season, usually not returning to the playoffs. there is no point in going on a free agency spending spree with all the other teams in the NFC North emerging. i predicted the Packers to win the division this year looking at how they rebuilt their team. now when i look at it, their corners will be a year older, and Favre might retire. therefore, i see the Vikings winning the division next year as Tarvaris Jackson is starting to come along. the Lions will be the same .500 team. Bears just need a lot of rebuilding. also, keep in mind Bernard Berrian is a free agent after this season. that hurts.

Well, I think they really miss Thomas Jones. I don't pin all this on the O-line.

The running back's role in pass protection is critical. When a QB takes a sack, it's usually for one of several reasons.

a) Coverage is excellent
b) Slow progressions, slow reads by the QB
c) The halfback or fullback missed his or her blocking assignment.

Jones could block like a mother. Also, he is the type of back that can run between the tackles. His style of running seemed to suit that O-line's scheme better. Peterson and Benson are more the bulldozer variety backs.

They should have taught Benson to say OLE! very time he let his man escape. Peterson just hasn't got a lot of playing time.

This week, I would also give some credit to the Giants line.

Come on, in the process the 1st a million/2 the Saints never sacked Cutler. It wasnt till the Bears commencing OT went down with a knee harm that the Saints took benefit and sacked Cutler 6 situations. The Bears misplaced 2 commencing offensive lineman interior the 1st 2 weeks of the season already. Had no longer something to do with the Saints.

It technically is more of the wide recievers fault. NYG are the best sackers this year with the most sacks this year. With that said, the Bears should have been expectng all this. Plus, it is partly Grossmans fault because he was the one that kept running farther and farther back for giant losses on the sacks.

Bears o-line has been terrible this year. Not having a speedy back like Thomas Jones to hit the small holes doesn't help either.

You hit the nail right on the head. That is exactly what has separated the Bears from the elite teams this year.
