I'm 24, educated, smart and not 'easy' or 'sleazy'. I'm in a long term relationship, and totally loyal and in love.

I'm also an actress, and need a night job (so I can attend day-time auditions) that pays well. I have heaps of bartending experience, but it was hard to find anything that paid more than $14 or $15 per hour. Then I saw an add in the paper for a strip-bar bartender. I ended up accepting the job, because the tips will be great, easily $100+ on a busy night, on top of wages and extras.

It's a safe, clean place, and you're walked to your car at night. My partner trust me, and understands it's a job just for money.

How much will this job affect my career if I ever to get a big acting job or make a successful career as an actress? Do people really remember what the bartender looks like? Shall I use a fake name? Do people think anyone working in a place like that is a s**t, even if they're not stripping?

P.S. I'm not obsessing over what others think, but it's only human nature to care, even if just a little :)

There's no problem with bartending at a strip club. Sly Stalone made a porno....he's still a big star.

I was a cocktail waitress at a strip club (several actually) and it has never affected my job status. I think it would be a good experience. You'll probably have a uniform of some sort. You'll get to wear comfy shoes where as the servers usually have to wear heels.

I don't see this as something that would affect your career as an actress, many actors/actresses have made their living as a bartender or wait person. You will run into people who think that you are easy because you work in a strip club, it's not right but that's how it is. You will run into this attitude from customers and others, so get used to it now, if you do go through with this. I don't know that a fake name would be necessary, either. People may or may not recognize you later on. If you're this paranoid about it, you may want to rethink taking this job.

Bartending is bartending. Just stay out of the stripper drama. A lot of them will hate eachother and most will be doing drugs and some will be hooking (even in the nice places).

Stay away from all that and you will be fine.

a minimum of you're running. I do not see how men and women could be capable to pass judgement on you simply on the grounds that you're employed someplace. At least you're contributing to society, in contrast to the bums that continue to exist the doll and mooch off of alternative peoples difficult paintings.
