I need to move some of my personal belongings 1,000 miles during Christmas week. There are only a few boxes, but I really don't want to rent a minivan/suv and deal with the insane traffic on the interstate that week. Is there a reasonably priced, end-consumer facing service that will ship a moderate (LTL) amount of stuff, say palletized or crated? The freight services at UPS seem to be B2B-exclusive. PODS is extreme overkill and I can't do a street drop at my new address.

update: someone posted a marginally insulting response telling me to look for a moving company. Allow me to re-iterate: COST EFFECTIVE AND LTL. I'm shipping the equivalent of one pallet. If you're in a bad mood, don't be "that guy" and take it out on people online, period. I wouldn't ask this before doing my research.
