The ron Paul people have somehow got to get a grip on reality. Ron Paul has one mainstream platform: He's anti-war. So are all the Democrats. Let's pretend for two seconds that Jesus comes down from heaven and Ron Paul actually gets the Republican nomination. Then there's a big problem for the Republicans. Ron Paul is not a Republican. He's a hard core Libertarian. Hard core Libertarians are nuts. Ron Paul is on record advocating lunatic libertarian policies that are WAY outside the mainstream. The Democratic candidate would have a field day with his past. He'd be crushed in the general election. He might not even get 15% of the vote. You people that are so enamored with Ron Paul because he's an anti-war "Republican" need to come to grips with reality and start supporting a Democrat. In America, we elect idiots, but not lunatics....

OK, Truth WIzard has called it. Ron Paul will be the Republican nominee. Everyone else pack up your tents and go home...
Look people, Libertarians want to COMPLETELY dismantle the government, privatize everything, and live in a society with no regulation. There's already a country like that. It's called Somalia. It's the ultimate Libertarian dream...

If Ron Paul was the saint that his supporters think he is, he would be running for the Democratic nomination, not the Republican nomination. Though both parties are clearly beholden to big business, the Democratic Party's core platforms favor the plight of the common man. The Republican Party's core platforms favor hate, bigotry, racism, and intolerance. Further, they seek to polarize our society by promoting economic policies that make life worse for most people. What kind of saint wants to lead a party like that?

Low morals? If you need the government to legislate YOUR morality, then you have much bigger problems than me sister. This is the core difference between Republicans and Democrats. Democrats have an innate moral compass and some semblance of self control. They can live moral lives without the government sitting on top of them. Republicans, apparently, can't tell right from wrong without some government bureaucrat or a preacher beating them in the face with morality 24/7. I'm so sorry that you have no self control over your own life and feel that you need the government to provide it for you. But the rest of us don't need your crap...

Hey, waitaminute! First you say that if Ron Paul gets nominated, he will lose to the Democrats. Then you say anti-war Republicans shouldn't vote for Paul, they should vote Democratic. But aren't the results the same? 8^)
I agree with you that some of Paul's core ideology sounds just downright kooky. But Paul is trying to do something which I find very admirable. He's trying to use a dedicated, loyal following of politically-aware people to get his name out, rather than sell out to corporate special interests to get money to get his name out. I think that's how politics should be! So Paul gets some points for that in my book. He is the ONLY Republican who has a -shred- of integrity.
I agree with you, though, that if he does manage to get the Republican nomination (which, I also agree, would just about take an act of Divine Intervention), if he does get the nomination, he will lose big-time because the party won't support him. This has happened twice in my memory, that a maverick has managed to win his party's nomination through the sheer dedication of a small following. One was Barry Goldwater and the other was George McGovern. History shows how well they did in the general elections.

I think you're a little too trusting of the Democratic party. The frontrunning Dems are not against the war, so I don't know where you heard that all the Democrats are against the war. Democrats and Republicans are all part of the same clubs, they have the same friends, they're in bed with the same corporate thugs. It makes no difference which party you vote for. Ron Paul is different. If he's elected president, our executive policies will no longer be set by an elite group of greedy businessmen, they'll be set by aging idealist who believes in liberty. The idea that he could dismantle the entire government in 4 or 8 years is ridiculous. As long as the Republicrats control congress, he can only set foreign policy. This will be enough to save the taxpayers a lot of money, and our soldiers their lives. If he succeeds in dismantling the CIA, more power to him. The CIA has caused so many problems at home and abroad over tha past 60 years that it's time for it to end. Maybe the government will still do experiments on us, but it will take them awhile to find a new way to do it under the auspices of "national security". I think it's time for a big change. All of the other candidates in the election will bring us closer to government bankruptcy and nationwide economic depression. Why would anyone want that? It's common sense to vote for Paul.

Ron Paul has incredibly no threat in besides of prevailing the Presidency. Ron Paul may be the least confusing of all the Republican applicants to overcome. as a remember of certainty a lot of my fellow Democrats go voted interior the Iowa Republican caucuses for Ron Paul to cut back to rubble the Reublican effects and likewise because of the fact Ron Paul may be the least confusing Republican candidate for us to overcome. You Ron Paul human beings actual generate lots of unsolicited mail do no longer you.

I'm sorry but I think you seem awfully worried over a guy who you think can't get elected. No offense but it sounds like something that Rudy Guiliani would say when he is feeling threatened. I wish you would inform yourself more on Ron Paul's latest books. I think if you read more on his stance you might understand better why he is the only true Constitutional candidate. I could really care less if they had and R or a D behind there name. I want to know if they have a voting record that supports the Constitution. Ron Paul does and that is what made me decide to vote for him. And you just never know when God who will use to bring America to her senses. I pray that it's Ron Paul.

Not Republican!? He is the only true conservative republican running... Yes, he did run for president as a Libertarian, but he has stuck to being a constitutional republican his entire Career. Then you say we should just support a Democrat because we want a republican to get us out of the war....hmmm.... what about all the other issues he stands against that the sweet dems would give us, big government, big taxes, low morals. Mr. Paul is the only candidate in my opinion that can get our country back to where it is supposed to be. Yes, and we are the ones that need to come to grips. You need to stop watching mainstream media, and start getting real facts.

I am not enamored with Ron Paul because he is anti-war. I am enamored with him because he has not become big-government like all the other conservatives. He is a true republican, and the other candidates have become democrats. The dems have become socialists. That is why I support Ron Paul. He sticks to the Constitution, and nothing more. What else do you want in a president?
He will back up our money with gold, to make it actually worth something and stabilize our dollar.
He will pull our troops out of a war that has cost us $495 billion dollars.
An anti-war candidate will not beat a democrat. The American population is overwhelmingly anti-war, whether you want to believe it or not. The only way for a republican to win is to be anti-war.
Ron Paul backs up what he says with facts and math, and not just petty comebacks. He is a doctor, and has obviously read a lot more books than Romney or Guiliani.
Ron Paul is the only person running who actually understands government, and not just politics. He is a learned doctor, and will turn our country around, whether he wins or not. He has had more individual donations than any other candidate (this doesnt mean more money, just more supporters), and even if he loses, he has started a revolution that will not end until its goals are achieved.

Dude, if he's going to be 'curshed' in the general election as YOU said, why the heck do you make a fuss about it? If he's a 'lunatic', and America doesn't elect lunatics, why even bother talking about it? If he's a 'terrible' nominee, a lunatic, and will get crushed in the general election, why do you make it sound like he's a big deal?
Stop whining about it if you think he's going to get 'crushed' in the general election..
Or maybe you think he actually going to get a chance. Maybe that's why you're making a big fuss.
By the way, the founders of America had a philosophy similar to Libertarinism, such as small government, pro gun rights, more personal freedom, and non-interventionist foreign policy. Look it up.

Another uninformed person who will waste their time talking about how "terrible" Ron Paul would be as President... It's getting old.
And why did you waste your time to post this? I see no question here - all I see is someone wanting to complain about Ron Paul. Are you really that desperate for some attention?
The question is, why are you so threatened by an "unelectable man"?

I agree almost everything Ron Paul stands for. Maybe you are simply one of the millions of sheep in this country that loves the government to scare you into voting morons into office.
He is more Republican than most of the candidates running.
