Your description is merely for shock value and more accurately describes a partial birth abortion - which I agree should be banned. But since 99.9% of all abortions are performed prior to 12 weeks (and the majority of those occurring at 6 weeks or less), your description is highly inaccurate.

In all honesty, I doubt that it's the least bit aware of what is happening to it, besides a small glimmer when it realizes it is losing its consciousness. Doesn't make it OK though. If it did know what was happening, what would it prefer? That's the real question.

Partial birth abortion should be banned/illegal...yes. But abortion in the first trimester should always be an option.
