You will get many different answers, but I personally do not think that it is OK, ever! I had one and am deeply saddened at my total disregard for human life. People do not always realize the absurd state of mind that women are often in when they face such a morally sadistic decision! If I could turn back time and give myself more time to really think it through, then I wouldn't feel the way that I do now. There are many women that are just like me and regret every move they made to get the abortion. I will try to put this in simple terms, but I believe that if you feel bad about something, even just a little bit, that it is wrong. Your conscience is trying to tell you that you are not to do this and you need to turn around and walk away. I unfortunately chose to ignore that little little voice in the back of my mind, and am now regrettably suffering the consequences of my actions. I feel sorry for any woman in this world that is faced with the decision of terminating their child, unfortunately in this country, women have the right to make that decision and it deeply saddens my soul that no one is able to help these women support the children both financially, emotionally, and physically. I realize that there are so many medical advances now that unfortunately women have to abort in order to save their lives, but even that is a sad situation in which the woman has to grieve for her unborn child. This is a very controversial topic and I believe that with so many different opinions, that there will never be a right answer to what is right, or wrong, but as a whole it is not ok to just abort a child for convenience!

IMHO, only very rarely (i.e. forcible rape and danger to mother). Should not be used as birth control.
Why?
I think abortion is distasteful. But then I think all meat is distasteful. Ground up human meat is particularly so since I empathize with humans a bit more than I do with hamburger.
I think sex without a concern for the consequences (without responsibility) is wrong and such people should be fixed. We fix pets out of humanitarian reasons, I should think fixing people would even be stronger humanitarian reasons. Unwanted pets is sad enough, unwanted children is monumentally worse.
From a moral standpoint, euthanizing animals is worse than fixing them. After all, killing is worse than cutting off procreation (or am I wrong?).
Isn't it strange that we find euthanizing fetuses more acceptable than sterilizing irresponsible prospective parents?
We basically find killing more acceptable than fixing.

I am 100 percent with Squeaky on this one. It should be the woman's choice, irregardless of the circumstances.
And, even in cases of where a teenage girl gets pregnant, I don't see how you could not support abortion. Is it worth it to bring a child into this world you know that you couldn't support and properly care for?
And I don't mention rape either-- if you're going to have an abortion, why does the reason matter? [edited there, got a little dyslexic XP ]

i agree with the ones who say, only when one or the other is in mortal danger. NO OTHER TIME IS IT OK!!! like one of my good friends said in a previous question of similar matters, "if you don't want a baby don't put your body near the baby-maker." yes,it's my body and no-one can tell me what to do with it but it is also my choice to have sex and sex is the thing that makes babies. i will not hold it against my child if i make that mistake. i will not hold anyone else to my standard because they are their own person but let me say that you asked the question and i gave my opinion.
guys cant talk as much about this particular thing because they will never go through what we will.
to the girls who say "OK" when he asks if he can do it without a condom, that's your own da** fault if he gets you pregnant. you have more to lose than he does if he makes a Little mistake. but don't kill the child for your stupidity.
I'm sorry for being so long-winded but this is something i am passionate about.

whenever you decide that you cannot provide, mentally, physically, & emotionally for a child and you are pregnant. If there is one thing that I cannot stand is when people get pregnant know they cant' take care of a child and still have it because they don't beleive in abortion.
My question to them is do you believe an tramatzation, mental distress & poverty. If you have a baby even though you cannot take care of it, then I guess you are PRO all these things :(

I agree TOTALLY with squeaky.
I was adopted. You think that would be the best outcome of an unwanted pregnancy? Oh HELL NO!! No child should ever have to endure what I went through because some man thinks he has a right to say what a woman should do with her body.
Abortion should be legal and safe for ALL women who want it.

I like kids, so I dislike abortions. But I would never force my opinion on someone else. I like to mind my own business.

Once the foetus feels pain, it should not be allowed, for at that point it is just about a human. The nerves are connected to the brain - thinking and pain.
It's around the 25th week.

When both parties involved feel that is the right thing to do.
If she has been raped.
If she is way to young, irresponsible, or unable to go through it.
If it threaghtens her health.

when the pregnancy isn't viable (baby will not survive the birth process) or the mother's life is in danger. Not wanting a baby is not a good enough reason - tons of people want to adopt, even kids with birth defects or born addicted or with diseases such as HIV and heppatitis.
