Some Bush supporter who disagreed with the Dixie Chicks' stance on war. If only somebody had listened to them, over 3,000 US people would still be alive.
"Shut up and Sing" I think was in some hate mail addressed to them and obviously written by somebody who doesn't believe in freedom of speech.

"Shut up and sing" is a documentary directed by Barbara Kopple and Cecilia Peck on the Dixie Chicks in the wake of singer Natalie Maines' anti-George W. Bush statement at a 2003 concert in London.
Shut Up and Sing" is also the name of a best-selling book by conservative talk radio pundit Laura Ingraham, but this book does not deal exclusively with the Dixie Chicks.

I whole heartedly agree that what was done to the dixie chicks was absolute McCarthiesm, but I can't even pretend like I could sit through 2 hours of country music without hurting anybody, so I may have to decline.

I am very proud to be an American. My beloved cousin Richard l
's l blood was shed in the sand of Iraq. Our Uncle Tommy in Vietnam; Both of our Grandfathers in WW2!
The patriotic people who boycotted their music; spoke;
the supposedly silent majority;
I pay money to go to a show to be entertained ; not to be held hostage and listen to someone disrespect my country and the president who represents this country.
As Merle said when your running down my country hoss you're walking on the fighting side of me.
We live in a wonderful country ; freedom doesn't come cheap and we can disagree agreeably;
That was not the time of the place for the Dixie Chick to air her opinion.
She has the right to her opinion; but when I pay money to be entertained keep your politics to your self.

A lot of there fans did after the political statement they made at one of their concerts, resulting in their fans boycotting their Cd's. Radio stations didn't even want to play them. People who listen to that genre of music are all about supporting the troops and loving America, so why they would make such a stupid statement to begin with is beyond me.

I think it was Toby Keith, in reaction to Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines saying that they were ashamed that President Bush was from Texas.

I searched the 'net and cannot find the source of the name of their album.
Maybe their manager?
Maybe a heckler in the audience?
Maybe it wasnt important.
I only found one reference to it.
