When my son was about six weeks old we had him sleeping in the same room as us. One night I had been fast asleep but suddenly woke up and looked towards the cot. It was pitch black in the room but a figure was standing over the cot. The figure wasnt white but it had a glow to it, it was definately human, hunched over the cot loking at the baby. It didnt feel threatening but i put my head under the cover for a couple of seconds. When I looked back it was gone. Looking back I think it was either my great nan who died a couple of months before he was born or my grandad, who died when I was a baby. When I told my dad what I had seen he said he had seen orbs in my front room where the moses basket was placed. I wish I had got a really good look now but it all happened so fast and I was shocked.

The house that I used to live in was haunted. My mom and my stepdad both saw ghosts in the house, but I never actually saw them. However, some very strange things did happen in that house. The water in the bathroom would turn on and off by itself, the phone would go missing, the tv would change channels by itself, the attic door would open and close when you weren't looking and it sounded like people were running around in the attic.
Anyway, some weird things do happen in the house that I live in now. I did get freaked out a little...but now I'm okay with it.

The second house I ever lived in had someone die in the backyard. We took christmas pictures in the backyard several years ago, and in the background of two of them you can see a dark figure with a very large nose moving closer to my sisters and me. Frequently, at night, I'd be trying to fall asleep when my bedroom door would fly open. I could hear distinctive footsteps moving towards my bed, and the bed would move down like someone sat down. I'd look, and no one would be there. Other times I would be walking to my bedroom and a misty figure would dart from my bedroom door to my bathroom and disappear. Other people experienced it too.
I would get freaked out at first. We moved in when I was six, and it started when I was seven. It continued until we moved out when I was sixteen. I got used to it after a while. It was never aggressive, so I didn't mind it.

About 20 years ago I went to the Sussex open air museum where they've got a load of old houses they've moved from various parts of the country. One they rescued was a 15th century farmhouse "modernised" in the 17th century. They didn't know whether to rebuild it in 15th century of 17th century style so they did half of each.
I was rather tired after walking round the site. I did the 15th century part of the house and went through into the 17th century bit. There was a fireplace with a blazing fire with a bench in front of it. Sitting on the bench was a chap in "yokel" costume - I just assumed he was a member of staff. I sat down and commented to him that it was interesting how they'd restored the house part 15th and part 17th century. "It's neither one thing nor the other" he complained.
Just then my wife appeared and asked me who I was talking to. The man and the fire had both disappeared.

I think the house I lived in last was haunted. I was about 5 and whilst jumping on my bed I saw a lady with a fruit hat walk through the wall.
My mom told me she would wake up late at night and see me at the end of her bed. When she would take me back to my room, she would find me fast asleep.

yep, I believe I have and it freaked the hell outta me.
When I finished crapping myself I kinda asked it what it wanted. Strangely, it couldn't talk ( or I couldn't hear it) but I was frozen to the spot watching it for a while. Things about those experiences strike you afterwards when you are trying to rationalise it but can't.
I believe what my nan told me. The dead can't actually hurt you- scare you? Hell yes, but I think that it is because those things are beyond the usual realms of everyday comfy human experience. I have since learnt that you can ask them to leave and they will.

I've seen ghosts show up in photographs...you didn't see them in the room, but when you see the picture, they are there.
I have also recorded, on at least one occasion, the voice of a ghost on tape.
Skeptics would say, oh, it's not a ghost...it's something this or something that....it is not really a face or a voice....

Those guys may have been robbers, call it a hunch. Your parents went into your room, so they may not have heard it, or they were to scared to confront them, but strange guys in your house at night can only mean robbers. Ghosts have cloaks, not tank tops. They enjoy a more dramatic affect.
PS (To everyone): Stop trying to convert him, he just thinks he saw a ghost, that doesn't mean he saw GOD, or some phony-baloney demon. Jeez.
