I am 72 and not ashamed to say it. I get tired easy. How much should my husband help me with?

Heck at 72 you both should be tired! Get a smaller house and hire a cleaning company to come once a week! Go out to eat and quit cooking! Both of you should relax you probably have worked enough over the past 70 + years!

If you are both retired he should help you a lot. It is not your job to take care of the house and him too. He should want to do all that he can to make things easier on you. Relationships are a two way street and he needs to carry his load also. If he will not help you let him fend for himself for a while. No clean clothes and no home cooked meals. He will get the idea. He has to give to receive.

please check into help for the elderly. They have home agencies that will come in and help with cooking, cleaning and that sort of thing. What about children? Anyone family that can help. I assume your husband is about the same age and he probably tires easily too.

Tell your husband it's time for him to help you around the house because it's getting to hard for you to do it alone. Say to him sense i cook the dinners you can wash the dishes and put them away after you dry them. Or if you want to cook i will wash the dishes. Tell him you wash his clothes so he can put them in the dryer and fold them when they come out. We both do the shopping together and we both put the food away.
