is the xbox 360 vga hd cable worth buying?

will you get the full 1080p experience with hd movies and upgraded resolutions from the standard component cables? if so, is it safe to buy from ebay? thanks

no not unless you have the full version of the xbox 360 with the full system hard drive

Your problem is, you're using a PC monitor and not a TV. TV's come with at least 2 or 3 inputs but I've yet to see a PC monitor with more than one. Your best bet is to use a TV or try to find a VGA splitter (don't know if they exist)
