Here we are again. The BCS feeds us crap for a championship game and everyone on the 4-letter network and other national media tell us LSU and Ohio State "deserve" a shot at the championship.

That is Bullspit.

I hate the beauty pagent that changes the best sport in the nation into the biggest pile of crap by the end of the season. Due to my increasing frustration with the idiots that run major college football, I have decided to take action.

I WILL NOT WATCH OR ATTEND ANY MORE BOWL GAMES UNTIL A PLAYOFF IS IMPLEMENTED.

If more people across the nation do the same television ratings will bomb and attendence will decline, sending a strong message to the NCAA and media.

Would you boycott the bowls this year, knowing it would force a playoff next year?

LSU TIGERS-

I really don't have a favorite team other than the team I'd have $ on ... lol.

I guess I like USF, being in Tampa.

I couldn't pick two teams this year, but if I had to Ohio State would defintitely not be one of them ... who have they played? Illinios? .... exactly.

Now we get to see another massacre like OSU vs UF.

Anybody in the top ten could win the championship if there was a playoff.

Those of you that aren't boycotting because there won't be "enough people to boycott" think about this.

It is the same as a voting. When one person says there vote doesn't matter then you look at their demographic and the entire demographic gets excluded (with their views) from the election ... (look at the teenage demographic).

EVERY PERSON THAT BOYCOTTS IS IMPORTANT!

sexxy momm-

Of course the BCS is good to you ... your big ten pres. along w/ the pac ten pres. are the main reason we don't have a playoff.

Your conference is weak ... your teams play nobody out of conference. Your top three teams (OSU, Illinois, and Michigan) played powerhouses like Youngstown State, Akron, Kent State, Washington, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Syracuse, Ball State out of conference.

Oh yeah, I almost left three of their non conference schedules ... they also played Oregon, Appalachian State, and Missouri ... and lost all three.

Yeah, the BCS "has been good to (OSU)," however, If I were you I'd be a little less vocal on your support ... giving reach arounds to the BCS big wigs is nothing to be proud about.

Good idea ... I'll not watch another bowl game.

I guess I'll go fishing on Jan. 1st and drink beer. instead of watching football and drinking beer!

I'll just check the scores when I get home!

Spread the word EVERYONE .... BOYCOTT ALL BOWL GAMES!

Whatever Congress decides or doesn't decide, any legislation it tries to pass will be rendered moot. The mere attempt by legislators is nothing more than political grandstanding. It's like you saying you're against global warming. Sure, you're against it, but you can't make it change one way or another. Let's say such a bill does pass Congress. All the NCAA would have to do at that point is sue in the legislative branch and there the proposal will die. Congress would try to argue that the BCS is a living, breathing violation of existing anti-trust legislation but the fact is there is no violation no matter how anyone might try to spin the argument. However remote the possibility might be, every FBS team theoretically has a chance to play for the title. Thus, no anti-trust laws have been violated. And on top of that, there's nothing to stop any FBS team from dropping down to the FCS level where playoffs are in effect. Again, no anti-trust violation. It's not that I'm against a playoff but the financial reality of the situation is that the current bowl system without any doubt whatsoever generates more revenue than any 8 or 16 team playoff format ever could.

So basically this season you will not watch a single bowl game? That will not be easy but I would love to boycott with you. I go to Grand Valley State, a D-II school whose football team is still in the hunt for the national championship so I enthusiastically support a 16-team playoff format in D-I FBS. I mean people think about it. A playoff is the only way to find out the real champion of major college football. The BCS is bullcrap. It does not even work. Every other division in college football has a playoff system so why not the top division?

I am not the greatest fan of college football so my comments may be meaningless. Don't all you sports fans realize that college football bowl selection is all about money? As are the professional baseball league championships and divisional playoffs, the pro hockey playoffs, the pro football interdivision playoffs ? Aren't all the college bowl games all about money? My UConn team gets whalloped 61 to 21 and gets into theMeinike Bowl? And how many bowl games are there? Hey!! which school is going to turn down $750 m plus?

Do you really think you could get enough people to boycott the bcs bowls? I don't. But even you could, the bcs has a contract with all the conferences until 2011, the contract thru 2008-2009 is just with FOX. A boycott may change things but not by next year.

Even with my love of WVU and going insane not being able to watch them play KNOWING they are on TV, I would boycott the BCS bowls this year, IF I knew 100% that it would force a TRUE playoff (not that +1 bs, but a true 16 teams playoff) next year. Other than that, no I would not. I love watching college football too much to do that.

Unless I am mistaken, the BCS has a contract until 2008-2009 bowls (so 1 more year). Ask me the same question next year and I'll give you a definate yes. Playoffs!!

i would for SURE do that. I HATE OSU with a passion. They do NOT deserve to play for the title pretty much every year. Other teams deserve the chance. Considering OSU played NO ONE this year, they really don't deserve it. Hawaii went TOTALLY undefeated and they don't get the chance to play , at least not for the title they get a bowl game, but nothin special. ...it's total crap. I hate the BCS stuff and think that playoffs should at least have a chance to be tried.

I actually had this thought as well. Let the money talk. Boycott. At the very least boycott the national championship AKA the "see, we were right all along" bowl.

No way. I happen to be an Ohio State fan and the BCS has been good to us! I do realize that things would seem more "fair" with a playoff system, it will never happen. The BCS makes too much money leaving things the way they are. If you want predictability and fairness, watch the NFL.
