I wrapped a picture of me and my husband and bought a card that said "Merry Christmas Grandma" and in the card I wrote "Hope you like the picture of my Mommy and Daddy!" My mom was in SHOCK and loved it. Good Luck!

Thats great that you are going to tell everybody at Xmas time!!! Congrats...
A lot of people have given you really great ideas already.
The ultraound picture idea is a good one....I would also give them something with a little stocking...stick with the tiny theme. Or maybe buy them an ornament that says grandachildren on it and have it personalized (leave the "next child" name blank...put the year the baby will be born on it (2008 of course) and that would sure get them excited...good luck and hope things go well!

You can get a personanlized onsie made and they can even put the ultrasound picture on it now- that would be very cute and surprising when the grandparents open it.
Or while everyone is opening the presents you can go to the bathroom or outside and wrap your tummy in wrapping paper and stick a bow on it and then walk into the room where everyone is.

Every year I wanted to do something different with anouncing my pregnancies to my husband and family the first time I was actually 4 months and deliberately did my best to wear larger than usual clothing to not bring attention to myself by changing into the larger clothing suddenly..I began in my 2nd
month, working on my home, remodeling, gardening etc this giving me reason to wear over sized overalls. Our first Christmas I hung various ornaments stating babies 1st Christmas the day my family and friends arrived...Needless to say my niece asked during the opening of our gifts who's the baby, where is it.....:)
My husband was thrilled but never wanted me to surprise him like that again....So the 2nd child concieved 5 years later, I recieved a sonogram picture and I enclosed it in a card announcing congratulations along with a dozen...Yes 12 large balloons and sent it to his work...I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time I found out and needless to say he was embarressed and thrilled at the same time....
Last but not least 10 years ago was our last child, and I couldn't resist telling him I was pregnant, I was about 4 months pregnant and in January 1997 made my husband a glass of iced water, and in his ice cubes I froze a dozen 1.5" plastic babies in each ice cube. Filled it up in a clear glass and set in on the table and ran into the bedroom and I can't tell you what he said but omg he was so excited......
Of course he had to ask how many months was I this time....Lol!
We have 3 kids 21, 16 and 10 and i'm currently trying again for our 4th hummm, now lets see what I can do next.....Maybe I'll wait till I give birth, that will really get him going.....Tee Hee!
You can change any of my suggestions that worked for me for anyone, beit grandparents, friends and even siblings, of course don't let that ice melt or use them in dark drinks it may pose a choking hazard.

You could always wrap up little booties and give them to the grandparents as a gift. You could also have your older child wear a shirt/ sweater that says I'm going to be a big sister/brother to your christmas celebration. You could easily make your own using those squeeze paints you can find in any craft section of a store. It could be fun for your older child to get to participate in the surprise.

different ideas:
1. Like on the Arby's commercial, wrap a "grandpa burger" and a grandma burger" you'd have to wrap it the day before xms and put it in the fridge though so it doesnt go rotten.
2. Photo of the sonogram
3. An empty baby book (that you will soon fill with pictures) and write the name of the child and your last name with it.

To be honest, I don't think you should make a holiday all about you and your family by announcing your pregnancy on Christmas Day.
I went through infertility and my sister-in-law went through a series of miscarriages, while I realize the world wasn't all about us, I found it very insensitive when my other sister in law got pregnant every time her husband glanced at her and they always felt the need to make every family gathering about them with their big announcements. I know that sounds bitter, but it is true.
I think it would be cute to get a red or green shirt and a Santa hat for your child. Have I'm the big brother or sister on it, but say nothing and see how long it takes someone to pick up on it, but not on CHRISTMAS DAY or at a big party.

You can do this for both your parents and your in-laws. Get a picture frame that will hold 2 5 x 7's or 8 x 10's. Put your first child's picture in the first one and type on nice paper and with a nice font "Coming Soon" to put in the other frame or you could simply put the due date and let everyone try to figure out what that means. Best wishes!!!!!

If I were breaking the news to my family on Christmas I would probably give a gift to my parents such as a custom made t-shirt saying "Grandmother(father) To Be" with the Month of the due date on it. Oh and on all Christmas cards you are handing out, put a picture of your sonogram and say that the card is from him/her. This is just me but I would also include a Baby Shower Gift Registry in every present :D haha.
Congratulations and Happy Holidays! Good Luck!!!!

Have a get together for all of the grandparents at your house to celebrate Christmas. Purchase some pacifiers (the dollor store has 3 packs for $1) and tie ribbon/string/yarn to them like ornaments. Decorate your Christmas tree with the "ornaments". They should figure it out quickly!
You could also have someone take of "family" picture of you, hubby, and your child. You holding a baby doll wrapped in a blanket. Put the pictures in frames and give to them. When they really look at the picture they will get the hint!
Congrats and Good luck!

Last year my friend sent out Christmas cards. On the front it said "anticipation" and had a picture of an oven and you could see a roll inside. You opened up the card and it said, Happy holidays from the Smiths John, Sarah* and our little bun in the oven. It was very cute
