Old souls tend to understand things far beyond what they've been formally taught about it, or exposed to. They understand abstract concepts very early in life, and throughout life, they have carry a sense of calmness and acceptance of adversity and difficulty, as if they've been through it all before, and know that in the end it will be fine.

I have decided that in the next 7 or so years I will retire- then in my final year I will live up to being an iconic daft old twerp... but only to undermine the arrogance of the modern spin doctors and the stupidity they pump into education today. I intend to use my final years carefully lampooning the wisdom of fast think philosophers ..... Old soul or Old s@d?

My friend, it is all a matter of individual perspective. Some people may see you as an old soul for one attribute, whereas another could see you as young and immature for the same thing. You cannot quantify a soul, and if you try to label one all you do is pitifully fail to restrain something that is not made to be contained, but rather exists to flow wherever it will. In a nutshell, nothing, since it changes from person to person, what really matters is how YOU see yourself.

some would also call an old soul a tired soul.. in that case it would be the weight of the world... stress.. that sort of thing.
