either way will help the yanks. if the get him the have a great ace. if not, we still have hughes. also, if the redsox get him they are unloading alot to add to an already set rotation. i dont see it helping them get to another championship.

Here are, according to the latest sources, the teams offers:
Yankees:
> Melky Cabrera
> Phil Hughes
> Mid level prospect to be chosen from a group
Red Sox;
> Jacoby Ellsbury
> Jed Lowrie
> Prospect
The Yankees offer is much better because (1) the Twins get a proven center fielder (melky cabrera) and (2) get a pitcher to fill a spot in the rotation. Also many people believe that Phil Hughes is a legitimate ace.
I don't know how people think that the Red Sox's offer is better. That just makes me laugh. You have a young Center Fielder who hasn't proven his skill over a MAJORITY of the season like Melky. Getting hot a 100 at bats and a few in the playoffs doesn't mean you'll be the next Ichiro. Also, Jon Lester is not in the deal if Jacoby is in it, so no pitcher. So tell me, how is the Red Sox deal BETTER than the Yankees?

At this point unless major progress is made by the end of the winter meetings the Yankees will move on. Leaving the Red Sox with the next best offer and if the Twins are desperate the Mets.

no longer a huge gamble!!!! Twins do no longer surrender Tori after this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. unlock some funds together with his settlement long previous besides as Radke's long previous and sign the two Santana and Nathan to long term bargains by using the top of the 300 and sixty 5 days. commencing lineup for the hot stadium in 2010 could contain Mauer by using that element a 2 time batting champion, Mauer a former MVP who's a front runner each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, Santana, a 4 time Cy youthful winner by using that element and Liriano, a 2 time Cy youthful winner ( He wins the two years Santana did no longer). So despite if that may not the way it is going, i'm a twins fan and that i'm able to dream.

I think the ultimatum will turn the Twins off of a deal with the Yankees. It could backfire and land him in Boston, which the Yanksdon't want. I hope the Twins are smart enough not to be bullied into an inferior deal. Screw the Yanksand their ultimatums. They can stick with Wang, and the old *** losers they underachieved with last year!

Their chances were greatly diminished last night when Hank Steinbrenner opened up his mouth and set a "deadline" in the media for the TWINS. The TWINS are reportedly pissed and are considering filing tampering charges against Steinbrenner & the Yankees over it.
I think that will tell the tale but we'll see. Anything can happen in baseball. Not to mention the RED SOX offer (as depectied in the media) is WAYYYY better than the Yankees.

I believe the Yankees have a slight upper hand because it appears to be the best offer on the table for the Twins. We should know the results very soon.

I doubt the Yanks will now since they have only today to decide but the Yanks will still be in the running, but they wont be as aggresive since they got Petite back.
