I worked in Financial Services for years - boring...... and now I want a change.

What jobs are out there that mean you're not stuck behind a desk 9-5, but still pay 'reasonable' money??

I can only afford to be out of work for 6 months ish so if I need to re-train it would have to be a short, intensive course.

PLEASE HELP ME - I don't want to spend the rest of my working life sat on my butt!!!!!

Work in the light entertainment biz. Train as a dancer, singer or musician.

Caring for the elderly or working with children.

How about the food industry? Chef, food reviewer...

It really depends on what you are interested in or have a talent for. But if you are unhappy working in an office change now, don't sit and wait. Ten years will flash by and then you'd wished you'd made the change when you had the chance.

Good luck.

xx

I totally understand. I tried and tried to figure something out too. I waited tables for a long time while i went to school and when i was done, i was destined for an office job so instead I went into selling residential Real Estate. I was hardly in an office but sales is a tough business. You never really know when you're going to get paid and deals fall through at the last second. But if you have perserverence and a sales mind, you won't sit at a desk much in that field. In the end, I wanted a good steady paycheck so here I am, at a desk. =)

You've got mail
A blonde quickly went out to her mail box, looked in it, closed the door of the box, and went back in the house. A few minutes later she repeated this process by checking her mail again.

She did this five more times, and her neighbor that was watching her commented: "You must be expecting a very important letter today the way you keep looking into that mail box."

The blonde answered, "No, I am working on my computer, and it keeps telling me that I have mail."

Do what you love to do and you will never work again. I think you are lucky to have six months to play with. If you do not know what you love to do, SEEK. I wish you well. Terry.
