I love my B/F's mom! She is such a darling...we are planning on giving her gold ear rings or maybe a watch!!!

while I liked the idea of the bees and broom, I would have to say for me it would be ideal to get them a talking clock that announces itself on the hour every hour, a driveway/front yard motion alarm system or one of those large parrots or possibly a cockerspaniel or some other little yipper. It just needs to be something that's really annoying and loud and isn't in the common gift arena. They'll appreciate the extra time and thought you put into picking out that extra special gift just for them as a gift they'll definitely remember. Also remember, If it's a live gift they'll have a harder time passing it along and you get the added requirement that they feed and water it daily thus adding to their joy.

As all gifts it depends on the person.
Theater tickets are nice if she is into that.
Some women like perfume or the latest novel.
I think presents should be thoughtful and reflect that persons likes and dislikes. If he doesn't know than a gift certificate to a nice restaurant is always nice or some nice scented candles. LOL tell him to get her a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret...

my mother in law asks for new pictures each year
so we do that and she collects owls so we have made a tradition of an owl ornament for the tree

Gifts shouldn't be given according to relation. Tell your friend to get her something that he/she knows she'll be into. Otherwise just get a gift certificate.
