Since when does it take 7 weeks to heel from a bruised knee in the NFL?

He could have played three weeks ago, but could have aggrivated his knee. Dungy said he didn't want to do what they did with Sanders last year and have to play him one week and sit him the next. They are a lock pretty much for the playoffs and want him 100% for their first game. He should play next week so he can get the offense into a rhythm as well as himself. With three wide receivers and Clark their offense should be sick.

It's more than a bruised knee. Tony Dungy is pulling a Bill Belicheck on the football world. Saying it's a bruised knee when it's a lot worse than that.

Since the Colts don't really need him, yet. Since the Colts don't want a repeat of what happened with Bob Sanders last year - comes back for a few plays, then sits out a few more weeks.

They want him 100% for the playoffs. However if he and Manning don't have their timing down, it won't matter.

Since they still have a 2 game lead and the tie-breakers in their division while he's been out, why rush him back. Save his 35 year-old-legs for the playoffs.

They're being very careful. I think they're going to do what they did with Bob Sanders last season. Wait till the post season then bring him back.

Also, why would they "lie" about it? That doesn't make sense.

I'm actually a little worried about this one.
This is all to eerily similar to Corey Simon's "Mystery Illness".

Torn ACL, see him next year or maybe next week, who knows, Colts have been lying about his injury for 2 months already.
