I received a DUI in Florida in Tampa in 2004 on a trip, can I get that expunged ever? If so how do I get this done as it showed up on my back-round check for a recent employer. I live in Maryland and it does not show up on that driving record. Anyhow I would love to get that one act of idiocy off of my record for good.

Good luck with that. I got a Florida DUI in 1997 and it's not going away. Unless you had adjudication withheld or were not convicted, it will stay on your record. I have found that employers are more impressed with honesty than a clean record. I always tell about my "criminal" past either in the first interview or in answer to questions on the job application. It has always been overlooked because I was honest about it. I was on probation for 18 months and had 12 weeks of substance abuse counseling. My DUI cost me over 25,000 if you include lost wages for being fired for missing work. Having gone through all of that, I think, makes me a better choice for and employee than most others who have been guilty, but never have been caught.
