I lived alone for a long time before my boyfriend moved in, but I'd say each scenario has it's advantages.
I love having him there because he's him. But I love being alone because I can watch corny TV shows, lay on the couch alone and get a lot more housework done in general when he's not there.

Both. I'm divorced now, I'm 58, and living alone for the first time in my life. But I have a Significant Other that I see 3-4 days a week and I enjoy having Him around, but then I enjoy it when He leaves too. So it's some of both. I think I have the best of both worlds.

It depends on my mood. Most of the time, I prefer having someone at home with me .. usually a family member. Not because I get scared .. just for the company. :)

I am virtually house bound and live alone, one adapts, and I am quite content, it is better than having some one stay a while, only to have to face loneliness and learn to face up to it again after they leave, so I would say it is harder for you.

Alone. I'm used to it. My hubby is truck driver and my kids are teens with a life!
