last night, the wash machine almost overflowed due to the contant flow of water. it would not stop even after shutting the machine off, ultimately I had to shut the water off. I am pretty mechanically inclinded and don't mind taking it apart could it be timer or is the hot water inlet valve stuck open with something, it is fairly new install I am thinking a piece of (soder)or something has been stuck into the inlet valve, so before I rip my machine apartany sugestions would be nice.

Inside the washer there is a weight sensor that tells the water to turn off. It's connected to a switch via a oplastic air tube. It may have just come off. That's what happened to ours. Took the repairman 3 minutes to fix and cost me $60.00! Was I pissed!
