We're both in the same boat here,
I'm sixteen and have been told I look younger.
Likewise, I get called scene frequently as we have the same sort of style (hair style, bows, fashion sense etc).
Maybe one way to 'look older' is to step away from the 'scene' look.
Invest in a good wardrobe- keep your flats and skinny jeans, but match them with more mature tops in greys or whites.
Save up some money and go on a spending spree, buy some newer pieces that are less 'teenager' and more 'sophisticated'.
Have a chat with the folks that work in the clothes shops, pick up some advice. They generally know what'll suit you best.
Lay off the extravagant make-up, and go for the more natural look. Using softer make-up will also, suprisingly, enhance your features so you're not hiding behind a ton of eyeliner and shadow (:
Change your hair.
Get a more grown up hairstyle,
Google it and find some good hair sites to give you some inspiration, print out the photos and take them to the hairdressers with you for a restyle.
Maybe you'd also like to dye your hair, bleach it lighter or darken it? Change makes you look different, and in this case it could make you look older.
High heels, if height's the problem, will certainly help.
You can get some wicked little heel shoes in most good shops nowadays.
(:
I've got four piercings- nose, septum, snake bites and hip surface. They may or may not make you 'look older', depending.
Though I would recommend getting a piercing, they can be only temporary and look soooo good (:
Those are the only ideas I can think of,
Hope it helped.
Feel free to message me with any more questions or whatever.
Good luck!

Don't TRY to make yourself look older - and certainly dont get a nose ring simply to shut people up.
Pull your hair back off your face, which instantly illuminates it showing off your older features. Don't smother your face with makeup, just use a tinted moisturiser with some mascara, a bit of eyeliner and a eyeshadow that matches your skin, eyes and hair.
When you smile, try to keep a top lip. Look in the mirror and think of something to make you smile, then smile way OTT. Go from there and slowly take it down to something which you think looks nice, simple, and 'old'. Remember what muscles you've used to do this and then practise whenever you smile.
If height is a problem, easy, just wear some simple heels. Try to wear more sophisticated and classy clothing rather than just something which all your friends wear.
Also, language helps. Try and speak older, dont use slang and use good diction when talking.
If people say you look 8, then ignore them - there's no way a 16 year old can look like an 8 year old, they're just exaggerating.
But whatever you do, DO NOT make any drasitc changes like a facial piercing or a haircut just to make yourself look older.
Good luck, and sorry for the long reply xx

It has a lot to do with the diet that people eat, their environment and evolution. Over time 12 year olds and stuff slowly began looking older and older and personally I think it is because of the food. We eat fast food where we don't know have the ingredients, drink milk with added hormones (not everyone does this but I'm talking majority) and the hormones can make you go through puberty earlier, that's why 7 year olds are starting to get their period and ****. Society is ****** up huh?

What? Are you on "crack" or something!! Sorry that just slipped out...I'm 57 years old and kinda have the opposite problem!!! I'm no fashion expert, but I'd say tone everything DOWN instead of tuning everything UP!! I've read in some magazine that you should either go conservative with your make-up OR conservative with the clothes. Frankly, I'm the kind of woman who can't stand browns or beige in clothes, so I think I'd go with corals, chocolate brown (nothing that's chocolate can be that bad!!) winter white (which is really cream), and denim blue. I don't think a facial piercing would make you look older; I think it makes women look younger! Incidentally, I hope you noticed I referred to you as a woman, honey. Worst case scenario...15 years from now having a hole showing up on your wedding picture closeup!!!!

Don't pierce yourself to look older!!! For a sixteen year old, skinny jeans and flats are normal, but try spicing it up. Wear a blazer with regular jeans, or a dress with a belt, whatever you think someone would called sophisticated. Or, if that's not really your style, keep your style and mess with your features, cause for a lot of people, that's just it. I know a 17 year old who looks 7, but that's just her face. But, I think it's just your features. If so, play them up. Put some light blush a little below your cheekbones to make them look more mature. Or, since you love bows (who doesn't?) try them with a sophisticated hairstyle. Like, a messy ponytail with a little bow, or a deep side part with a small bow clipped loosely.

facial peircings will help you look older? ummmmm no sorry that will just drive home how young/immature you are
how tall are you and your weight? maybe its your physical size that have people saying you look like you are 8
try not wearing such teenage looking clothes ....no super skinny jeans and converse/ ballet flats...if you are short get some low heels to wear and black eyeliner is kind of childish go for a more polished look and bows in your hair? are you betty rubble?

Without seeing a picture of you, there's no much to go on, but first, I'd stop wearing bows in my hair. That's very little girly. Also, facial piercings will not make you look older.

Dont wear the bows, and maybe switch to heals or flat boots. Makeup does help you look older. But I wouldnt be in such a hurry to grow up if I were you. Trust me, Highschool was nothing compared to what college is now.

Wearing your hair down improves a lot. Wearing eyeliner, but not too much. Sweaters, business tops. Jewelry. Normal nail polish. not pink or blue...get me?
The same thing happens with me, I'm 23 years old, and people tell me I look 18. Enjoy it now though...lol People always want to look younger.

You can try light make up and leaving your hair down. Although some people just have that face that makes them look younger. Don't get the piercing yet, wait till your facial features grows with you.
