Santana deal may not happen, and frankly, I d rather go for Haren or Bedard, who may not be as good as Santana, but they are fine pitchers, and wont cost us as much as Santana in terms of players and dollars. What do you think?

We should go after Bedard! He's a yankee killer! He always kills us!!

Well, all you yankee fans better hope they DO get santana because if they don't it will taint any deal they make for a pitcher after that, at least this off season. Do you think Billy Beane doesn't realize that if the red sox get santana that the yankees are up shits creek w/o a paddle? Beane is the best in the game when it comes to prying prospects away from teams who don't want to part with them, plus Beane is probably the smartest GM in all of baseball and he knows if the sox have Santana the Yankees are ripe for the picking. He will rake them over the coals for Haren because he knows they'll be desperate, it'll cost them more prospects than santana just to try to keep pace. as far as bedard goes, Baltimore is not stupid either and will not trade within their division.
It's Santana or Bust Yankee fans, face it. Then last night Hank opened up his big mouth and pissed away any chance of that happening. Good luck, Pettitte or not, they'll need it.

Yes, i am extatic about pettite, and i do think this eliminates the santana possibility, now here is my two concerns...

1. Hopefully the yankees dont get antana, and neither do the redsox!

2. etting bedard or haren!

I would do a hughes for haren swap, maybe even iof they can get the a's, or o's to do a trade of kennedy, and ohlendorf or something, because hughes is still very valuable. So, i agree, and their is why!

Think big, why not Santana and either Haren and Bedard? They have plenty of offense and it is now time for them to concentrate on pitching. By the way, I am a Dodgers fan.

Id like to see Bedard but doubt baltimore will send him to a division rival..i dont think giving up Hughes and an energy guy like Cabrera is good choice either...So id say Haren..perfect middle rotation guy and probly wouldnt cost a lot to get him

I can't imagine the birds trading Bedard to a team in their division.

Great we need to get Snatana, but the Twins are asking too much from the Yankees. After they asked for Hughes and that Yankees put that in the package. The Twins bulked.

Excuse me while I vomit at the thought of the Yankees acquiring another all star out of the blue...

all bitter sarcasm aside, I think the Yankees would be wise to hang on to their young guns. Remember when Oakland had Mulder, Hudson, and Zito as their top 3? Joba, Kennedy, and Phil have enough potential to resemble that at least partly. Yankees faithful should cringe at the notion of trading their prospects away. I know I do.
