You will be ok.
I have dealt with hundreds of cases like yours, keep topping up with diesel and put some diesel treatment in with it.
Don't listen to the mentally challenged idiots on here who think they know better.

No, you will find that it will run a bit rough until you have used most of the petrol. My daughter did the same to my 205 only filled it right up. Cured the problem by removing most of the petrol and then filling with diesel, about 50% mix. the engine is still fine, however the car was written off in a crash. Your best option is to keep filling the car with diesel as you use the fuel and that will speed the process.

Even a modern car wouldn't be much affected by 5 litres of petrol in 100 litres of diesel, and it may even help at this time of year, 0.5 litres certainly won't be a problem, that's not even a pint!

Nope your car will be perfectly fine. Happened to me a few months back and all i did was keep topping up the tank with diesel so that it remained full which thins the petrol. Remember diesel cars can run on used chip fat oil so a little petrol will not harm it.

I once filled my works van from empty to full with unleaded.I got 20 miles before it died. It was towed back, drained and refilled with diesel. Never had a problem over the next 60,000 miles. Just keep topping it up with diesel so the petrol gets more and more dilluted, don't listen to the scare-mongers, it'll do no harm.

No. The car will be a bit sluggish 4 a while, but it should be OK. Fill up with petrol at every chancy. even 2 lts or 1/2 a gallon. Also put in some red x. good luck. xx

Not as bad as you might think, if you'd put diesel in a petrol it would have been much worse.
You need to drain the fuel tank, Replace the fuel filters bleed it through and you'll be ok.
You could easily do it yourself but if you took it to a garage to do the work it'll probably set you back about £100, be carefull though, some garages may try it on.

no, dont worry, i am a taxi driver, we sometimes put a small amount of petrol in diesel cars, it actually cleans out the injectors, just to be double safe, top up with diesel as you use it driving. its a very common mistake and easy to make. you need not worry. now if it was a petrol car, then you would have problems.

Sounds to me as if you're running a 2:1 diesel:gas mix right now. The citation below tells you how bad it is to do this.
I wouldn't drive any farther that way than I absolutely had to.
If you can, drain the tank. If you can't, call your local mechanic and ask him to do it. You'll need a tow and a few litres of diesel to put in right away (because letting the tank run dry is a different problem with a diesel).
Chalk this up to one of those things you do but survive.

Well you have alot of work ahead of you.. Hopefully the little bit of gas u ran threw the engine did not eat away the gaskets. You may have to remove the glow plugs , clean them, and drain all the lines. The fuel filter will have to be replaced and the tank must be completely drained. The car may be alright by chance
