Hormel Foods came up with the term SPAM to introduce the new luncheon meat ....Shoulder Pork and hAM. Today it is a common term to means useless junk emails/pop-ups.
Most people have some vague awareness that it came from at first from the spam skit by Monty Python's Flying Circus. In the sketch, a restaurant serves all its food with lots of spam, and the waitress repeats the word several times in describing how much spam is in the items. When she does this, a group of Vikings (don't ask) in the corner start a song:

"Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, lovely spam! Wonderful spam!"

Until told to shut up.

Thus the meaning of the term at least: something that keeps repeating and repeating to great annoyance.

It's the best I can do!!!! LOL!

Originally called Hormel Spiced Ham, Spam was introduced in 1937.

But if you mean the kind of spam that you receive in emails, it comes from a Monty Python skit.

IT IS NOT AN ACRONYM !!!!!!

If you mean SPAM, as in pointless messages on the internet, then it stands for:
Stupid Pointless Annoying Message.

If you mean the tinned meat Spam, then that comes from SPiced hAM.

If you are talking about the meat SPAM I think that is is SPiced hAM. If you are talking about the computer term, it actually came from the SPAM skit on Monty Python.
