I am not talking about "valume" or medication.... I want a good way to relaxing yourself and keeping calm in hard emotional times and keeping my mind off things........ for example a break up that is only "space" , college finals, ect.... Any good advice on how to keep things moving and clear headed...

Therapy.

But what's talked about in therapy is a variety of things that can be useful.

Psychoeducation about stress and anxiety can be helpful. You learn to sort of ride out the wave of anxiety or stress... because erasing it or stifling it immediately is near impossible.

There are certain techniques like breathing, muscle relaxation, even quasi-hypnotic and meditational practices that can help you center yourself, if you can get into that kind of thing, and they can be helpful.

Finally, it takes practice to keep a perspective. Life is a long-term thing. Final exams will come and go. You'll do surprisingly well on some, surprisingly poor on others. Life goes on. You break up multiple times before you're all set with romance, and that's a GOOD thing. It's SO much better to break up a bunch of times, be heartbroken at times, be lonely at times, and spark up new interests and romances even, than it is to just jump into big commitments and end up divorced, trapped, and poor.

I still get a kick in the gut when a relationship ends. It never goes away. You just learn to manage it better... and keep a perspective on life. It doesn't end when we're overwhelmed. It keeps going. When you're up, you never think you'll hit bottom again soon, and when you're down, you feel like you'll never recover. Just ride the wave, and realize that even the miserable times can be beautiful, because at least they are genuine.

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

Exercise, meditation, yoga are all great ways to manage stress w/o drugging yourself.

Also, don't ignore the benefits of good nutrition - don't try to survive on Red Bull during finals.

One day an older lady told me that if worrying ever changed anything, she'd set up a shrine, kneel down and worry everyday. That really sunk in with me. Just remember that it won't change a damn thing. So you might as well fuggitaboutit.
