my car makes a grinding sound whenever i make a left turn. there's no clicking, no squealing, just the grinding and i can feel it in my seat. it only does this on left turns, right turns are perfectly fine. my transmission is completey rebuilt, my tires are in great condition, and my brakes are relatively new as well. i noticed it started a few days ago, around the same time i randomly lost my right front hubcap. any ideas on what this could be?

Could be a couple things. CV joints could be dry, i.e. no lubricants, the boot or covering may have broken. Or it maybe your bearings in the wheel. When you lost your hubcap, whatever made it fall off. You may have also displaced the dust cap to your bearings. And that has dried off. Or the bearings that the wheel rides on have dried out for whatever reason and are grinding on the turns. That's why you feel it so much. The surface has become pitted and irregular.

What ever it is, you should have it taken in soon before the damage done gets very costly.

Good luck

The ball joint on the lateral administration arm makes the noises you defined. most of the time they could get loose and that i have self belief there's a existence time assure keep in mind on the parts even if if replaced already. I have considered 3 Eclipses with the ball joints going dry and creaking and popping on celebration. Any Mitsubishi broking service could assure them and in the adventure that they furnish you with a frustrating time ask to communicate with the District representative. The production unit has replaced such an excellent style of of those lateral administration palms that I doubt in case think about worry, to boot this is a protection merchandise. even as they arrive aside the suspension collapses and also you would possibly want to't steer nicely worth a damn.

Sounds like a CV joint to me. I assume the car is front wheel drive. No doubt the CV rubber boot split some while ago allowing dirt into the joint. You need to get this sorted or you could be left stranded. Stitch in time saves nine! Sounds a bit late to me, good luck. Alan UK

Quick suggestion, check your power steering fluid. May not have anything to do with your problem but mine was sort of sounding weird when making turns and I checked and my power steering fluid was bone dry!
