There were a great many songs that have been written in response to the attack on the World Trade Center . Two examples would be “Have You Forgotten ?” by Darryl Worley and “Where were you when the world stopped turning ?” by Alan Jackson . How many songs like these have been written, and why haven't they been collected on a series of CDs ?

Almost all of Bruce Springsteen's album "The Rising" was written about 9/11. Especially the title track, "My City of Ruins," "You're Missing," "Empty Sky," and "Into The Fire."

I don't think there's ever been a collaboration CD created of these songs.

An independent artist Gary Adamson did a great song after the attacks called "No Night There". It got a bit of press and airplay, but I always thought it deserved more.

Not sure if it's still available. Try an online search.
