I was wondering what kind of alto saxophone I should buy?
I have played for 2 1/2years then stopped and played trumpet for 1 year and now I want to go back to saxophone. I now want to buy an alto saxophone preferably the brand of Yamaha. I don't want a bad model I want one that is good and is not to expensive like max 3,100$. I also have this problem like sometimes I get chills up and down my spine because of the reed is there anything I can do for that problem? But the importance is what model of yamaha saxophone should I buy?

To stop the chills wet your reed first.! I had the same problem with a dry reed when I was playing the Sax.

Don't just go out and buy one.! First go to musice store and rent the ones you are interested in buying then try them out by using them a month or two. Then, buy the one you like best of all the ones you tried out. That is the only way to fly when buying a Sax or any musical instructment for that matter.
Too bad you can't do that when buying a new car.

you can get a knock off of a selmer (pro sax) for the price of a standard sax. I have one my self. its the Alpine brand, and although not as pro as the selmer, its a great mimic of it. Mine was only ~1500, and i got it through a rental program. Check your local music shop and ask for an alpine brand, you wont regret it
