Flatscreen monitors are not curved.
Widescreen monitors have a 16:9 ratio rather then a 3:4 ratio.
You can get flat and non-flat widescreen monitors, and flat and non-flat regular aspect ratio monitors.

a 'flatscreen monitor' is typically a CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor with a flat screen as opposed to a convex curve. Widescreen LCDs are LCD monitors that support widescreen aspect ratios and are visibly wider. they are shaped more like a rectangle.

Flatscreen refers to the depth, a non-CRT (or, non-Sherman-tank, as we call it) monitor. Widescreen refers to the width (as another answerer has described, better, above).

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Displays. It refers to a flat panel technology which uses liquid crystals sandwiched between two glass plates for example in laptop computers, other small portable displays and also in televisions. you can get them in wide screen wich would be shorter on height and longer from side to side or in a normal square shape
