..when I ask a question intended to gather some insight into feminist mind pertaining to injustices of sorts faced by men.
e.g.
I asked for studies performed & promoted by feminists showing men to be good. Aside from about three which DID supply information, only insults came back from most feminists.
One of the supplied sources claiming to be 'pro male' actually used several "examples" of men beating women, nothing more.
(Everyday anti-sexism / Michael Flood) Look it up, and you'll see for yourself - this is pure manbashing NOT positive at all for men. If that example is anything to go by, I think it safe to assume the other 'pro male' study results were also man-bashing.
Additionally, I enquired about women's prisons being closed ... no feminist responses there. Does that imply feminists condone double standards of 'punish' men but 'help' women who commit crimes?
Men have largely tried to help feminists - so...?
So - does the silence say more than words could?

Some of the quotes from Michael Flood's "Everyday anti-sexism" 'study'.
CASE: It's the middle of the city, Saturday night. David walks around the corner. There's a man and woman, _he's_ pushing her, _slapping_ her crying face. It's _fast,_scary,_violent.
Make some attempt to intervene when you come across _men_directly_oppressing_women_. Call out, ask what's going on, just be there. This can slow down what's happening. Make the _man_ feel noticed, and offer practical assistance to the _woman_. If she's being _bashed_, get the police.
CASE: Grahame is listening to the news with a friend, Steve. A woman has been raped, Steve comments "She asked for it".
(personally, I've NEVER heard any guy say 'she asked for it' - as portrayed by the 'man-friendly' Michael Flood)!!!

If Michael Flood is representative of male-feminist's opinion of NORMAL everyday men, it is NO wonder feminists (male or female) have such a BAD reputation for hating men... this guy is PROVING that point, NOT countering it as Deirdre O seemed to think :o(

Lacey "it is not feminists' responsibility to prove through studies that men are good.
Men are no better or worse than women. We are people. That is what feminists have set out to prove."
If that's the case - then WHY are there SO MANY studies by feminist which 'prove' men are worse/inferior?
Is it feminists job to prove men are bad? If not, why do they make such a good job of it?
I think the reality is seeping through... feminists - generally - are antimale in a big way, and though many claim to be for both men & women - the proof is in the pudding.

Deirdre - You seem to have misunderstood what I was saying... I said men - as a general group... I did not say myself (although in fact I was very pro-feminist in my less educated days).
Referring to your response to my other question, the studies you cited were by en large - male authored studies.
As for Michael Flood - I can't believe you put that *man hater* on the list. Read above as evidence of his hatred for the common man - painting us as abusers and condoners of abuse.

"In your question I also left you many example of feminist studies that did not perceive men as being bad. Did you read them? I doubt it. That would interfere with your focus which is on bashing feminism because you blame it for your own personal problems."
I did ask you for elaboration on the studies you provided. As you chose NOT to elaborate or supply any links, I randomly chose one of your sources (Michael Flood) and nearly fell off my chair upon reading the 'study' (aka portraying normal men as abusers)... yeah - that was really pro-male?!?!

sigy - I don't like your answer, but thank you for your honesty...
Tera: Thanks for your entry too... though my concern isn't so much with those two questions (though it's good to see them being answered too), but rather the reasons behind the 'deafening silence' when those questions were asked...

I think it is because You come across as being a little too tough for some of the younger ones to handle. Perhaps just a wee bit too well informed. Unlike some of our fellow (is that sexist/gender specific?) contributors you have actually taken the time to do some research. And as for the rest they are probably just tired of defending a position over and over again. Apathy tends to set in after a while, and people just go 'off' a combatant or contributor.
Cheers!

One answer stated "That may be why you don't get that many responses from feminists - we're at work. I shouldn't be on here at all....but I'm sneaky!".
But it seems that many feminists find time to post to other questions...
I've seen quite a few feminists relate something similar, indicating that several feminists are reading and posting to YA! during working hours, INCLUDING those who make claims that women should be paid the same for the same job.
Hypocrisy rules. Does that answer your question?
(For those who want to ask why I am on here during the day, I am semi-retired after working full time for over 40 years.)

Quite a large percentage of people (men and women alike) are in jails and prisons for drug-related crimes, most of which are non-violent (nearly half for possession-related charges). I would like to see addicts get treatment instead of incarceration. It's been shown that jail time is not a deterrent for drug addicts, and that those who are incarcerated for drug-related activities have a higher recidivism rate than those who are locked up for other reasons. This is true for both men and women, and as a future drug counselor I'd like to see treatment become a more available option for those who need it. (Response to your prison question.)
Most of this country (the US) still favors incarcertation over treatment, but times are changing with the acknowledgment that there are definite failings in the "war on drugs." The state in which I live (Washington) is right now in the national spotlight for creative changes it has made in regard to this issue. We are slowly but surely moving toward a public health model, and other states and cities are following our lead. We have implemented drug court (which provides treatment to the addict) and the success of these programs is being discussed at the national level. These programs will benefit both men and women. I don't think you're going to see instant overnight changes in policy, but we are seeing progress. I also don't think you're going to ever see the "doing away with" women's prisons. At least not in this country (the US), and likely not the UK either, despite the topic being discussed- because as you have correctly surmised, this would be unfair to men. Not only that, but some criminals really are a danger to society (whether they be male or female), and must be incarcerated somewhere. I do think we need more rehabilitative programs for both men and women who are discharged from the prison or jail systems. This would reduce the recidivism rate.
Sorry for the short response- I'm at school right now and in between classes.

I do not agree with your post. But I would like to respond to
TERA'S post,
As a retired person ,part of my work history is as a Drug Counsellor, The war on Drugs is possibly one of the worst pieces of legislation ever past in this country, It has swelled our prisons, to over 2 million now, and the percentage of violent offenders has increase over this period but by only a few percentage points. Most of those imprisoned are for non -violent crimes, I agree that this type of offender would be better served by treatment programs, The cost of
incarceration is $40,000 -$30,000 dollars per year to pay for one persons incarceration for a year, the same cost as sending someone to the best Universities in this country. The racial disparity of the persons incarcerated, Blacks , have been jailed at an alarming rate in this country, which I consider as the new form of American social control.
I will list a few links below for those who care! thank you.

It is funny. When I first came here (I had another account, which was suspended god knows why) Feminists were whining with the wage gap and the glass ceiling. We finally made them see the truth. Then they complained about America being a rape culture, just because they couldn't walk in dark alleys at night. We told them that that's personal stupidity. Day by day, their complaints are fading.. or they make dumb claims like "there is still some discrimination against women in the workplace, albeit a less notorious one". This was said by a very praised feminist here, who incidently wasn't old enough to work at the moment she said this, and backed it up with nothing. I would be really glad if the feminists in power were replaced by some here, except for that particular feminist who said that.
Rebel: although I don't think any gender is better overall than another, your emotions are keeping you from knowing the truth, which is really a shame. Truth doesn't fade away because you don't look for it. I would like to meet those people who are sexist at you, and which claims they do.
Deirdre: Learn syntax: they HAVE, when it was about equality. Now, since we are the main negatively affected party, we found the cracks of feminism earlier Then, some women did. It is time for the rest to find them.

Men have largely tried to help feminists????????????
I have yet to see you or any of the males that support your ideals do anything but constantly bash feminism. Sorry to be so blunt but that is the truth.
There are some truly amazing men who post here that are pro femist and pro equality but antimisandry you are not one of them.
In your question I also left you many example of feminist studies that did not perceive men as being bad. Did you read them? I doubt it. That would interfere with your focus which is on bashing feminism because you blame it for your own personal problems.

Nope, I just have a lot of work to do today and I lost interest (for the moment at least) in arguing things that are pointless.
Keep in mind:
1. This is the Internet. People lie more often than not on here. Those "feminists" could be anti-fems trying to make fems look bad.
2. Not every one is on here at the same time to answer.
3. Not all fems and anti fems answer questions on here.
This leaves with one main conclusion... all poles done on Yahoo Answers are incorrect.
