I want to replace the doors for my bedrooms and bathrooms. I noticed that most places sell the doors pre-hung with the jambs and they're pretty expensive. Do they not sell the doors just by themselves?

I know I would have to measure and cut the hinge holes, but that's easy. I just don't want to have to buy the whole pre-hung door & jamb.

I just replaced my doors in my bathroom (2) and one in my bedroom... I bought mine at home depot. I just measured the door frames and took the measurments in. Far less expensive than purchasing the whole thing (door and jamb) Some of the doors don't have knobs on them, so make sure before you purchase whether the door cost includes the knobs or not...

most door companies can come to your home, measure each door (width, height, hinge location, and knob location) and cut custom doors to fit each existing doorway. we did it and paid $60/door. you can even take your doors to them for measurement. it's best to have them come out, because if one of your existing doors stick or something, they can make the adjustment in their measurement. don't scare sugar like that.

Any lumber yard and most home centers sell doors prehung or not prehung (called slab)
