You already are on the verge of sounding like a fool when you say, ".....join in on the fun." Wicca is their religion, which may be fun but is definitely a spiritual path. It is what is commonly called "nature-based", has a duality to the Higher Spirit as God and Goddess, and believes in the energies of the natural world and karma (what you put on the Wheel can come back and smack you 3X over, if you're not careful). You basically "Do as you will" without harming anyone or anything else. Witchvox.com does have lots of information and the views of many Craft people of different traditions. If you are wanting to learn with books, I believe that Scott Cunningham's "Wicca for the Solitary Practioner" is a good basic book and is very easy to digest. Although Silver Ravenwolf is often thought of as "fluffy", you can get some of the basic ideas through her works also. Raymond Buckland offers very complete and complex infomation and may be more than you want or need as a beginning. Or you could just approach his parents with the idea that you wish to learn a little about what they do. They can explain in simple terms (like I have) or may have some recommended reading of their own. If you are a minor, though, they may have reservations about "teaching", especially if YOUR parents are not open to you studying this path. Learning the base tenets of Wicca before you decide whether it is for you or not is a good idea, even if you do not choose to go on. Comparitive religious studies go a long way towards understanding how other cultures interact with the world.

The best way to learn more about Wicca would be to ask your boyfriend's parents about it. I'm sure they'd be more than willing to answer any questions you may have. As for books on the subject, almost anything by Scott Cunningham is a good source. There are several other good authors on the subject. You can find lots of books at almost any book store. Even your school or local library might have some books for you. As a newcomer to the world if Wicca, I'd reccomend Vivanna Crowley's "The Principles of Wicca." It explained a lot about the religion to me when I first started. Google's also a good place to look. It would also be a good idea to ask your parents permission before you go through with it. If they aren't open to you pursuing this path, it could create a lot of unwanted tension between you and them.

Some general info:
Wicca is an Earth-based religion that draws primarily on European traditions, but in some cases, particularly in the US, it draws on Native American and some West African culture as well. Wiccans worship both a God and Godess and generally believe that the Divine is not "out-there" as suggested in Christian society, but all around them (ie. the Earth). There are also many different aspects to the religion, wich can generally be related to the elements Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit/ Ether. Earth relates to the physical body, wisecraft, and is the basis of material existance. Air relates to the mind, knowledge and intellect. Fire is magic, energy, and passion. Water is love, tolerance, and respect for one another. Spirit/ Ether is the final element that ties the rest toghether and which represents the mystical aspects of Wicca. As a general rule, most Wiccans abide by the three fold law, which states that anything you sent out will come back to you three times as strong (karma), so for the most part Wiccans want to send out good energy in order to prevent any misfortune in their own lives.

I don't know how well I explained anything, and if anyone finds any mistakes or problems with this I'd like to know.

Most people are willing to discuss their religious beliefs if they are approached respectfully.

For a very good, balanced discussion of Wicca:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/witchcra.htm#menu

gives great background info. I will also repeat that if you are a minor, for your boyfriend's parents own legal safety, they cannot formally teach you, or accept you as a participating member of a ritual without the written consent of your parent or guardian.

BTW: on peachyone's answer
I do not consider Silver Ravenwolf as "fluffy" I consider her dangerous to my religion when she tells minors in her books to actively lie to their parents and hide their books and study Wicca behind their backs. In the US, parents have total control over the religious education of their children - legally.
I do not want to have some fundamentalist minister pointing to those statements and telling everybody that Wiccans have some agenda to convert their children (with some justification I might add!) And if I condone her actions, I would have to condone a Christian minister taking my son off to Bible study without my knowledge or consent.

You will find the experience very refreshing and enlightening. You can visit the links given to you by some people in this forum, but I am sure that your boyfriend's parents will gladly answer all questions.

Go to the library and the book stores and just start to gather your own ideas about it. Then If you decide that you think it is real you'll be glad that you learned it yourself and not someone else telling you there interpretation's

What tawaen said.

I starred it for the other Wiccans, many in my contacts, who, unlike me, don't have "Wiccen" in their default search or the incarnatrix on their nice lists.

You might want to say Wiccan in the additional info somewhere.

I think his parents would totally understand that you are uneducated in this area and would be willing to explain it to you. However, if you are underage, I would first ask YOUR parents if they mind that you ask his parents about it. Wicca is commonly misunderstood and you wouldn't want to create any friction between your parents and his. You can also google "wicca" and read about it as well.
