If you are partners and the business is not incorporated, then you are responsible for the debts jointly with your husband.

If the business is incorporated, then you aren't liable unless you personally guaranteed any of the debts.

If the business is a sole proprietorship owned by your husband, you'd have to consult a lawyer in your jurisdiction. I assume you'd benefit from the value of the proprietorship, so I assume you'd be affected by any debts it had as well.

funny u put this in the "law and ethics" section....sounds like u r planning to, if u can, run off and leave him in the sh*t...not very ethical nor moral (bet you'd be happy to take a share of the profits!!)

only what's signed for counts and so if u were not a legal owner then u r prob not gunna have to pay up. but just remember what goes around comes around!!!

depends on how the business was incoporated and who the officers were when it was registered.
