Using Spy Sweeper??? And what is adware..?

Question

Hi, i am using Spy Sweeper and at the moment it is scanning. It has detected 6 Adware items at the moment. Can someone explain to me what Adware items are and what i have to do with them once the Spyware scan has finished. And are adware items bad.

Some ad-ware will track your way of using computer and may leak some of your ways of using computer to the third party that like to collect your information. It will not change your computer system operation, but sneaking around to gather your information. They cause slower down of your computer, and clean them up is a good idea. At the end of the scanning, you will have the option to remove them and do remove them.

Adware is a spyware program that mimics the name Ad-Aware, which is a legitimate anti-spyware program. While adware is not technically considered a major threat, it should be removed. Spy Sweeper will detect it for you and then you can just follow the instructions at the end of the scan to remove it. You'll get familiar with the spyware names once you've run Spy Sweeper a few times.

Adware is a form of electronic advertising or Spam designed to target users with useless rubbish that mainly comes from over seas which prey on insecurities of the people it's designed to attack. It's akin to the rubbish that you get through your postbox advertising new fast food places or injury lawyers ect.
When your program finds them all after the scan just delete the lot.

Do a "google" search on "spyware" and on "adware" for a full explanation.

Usually Spyware is trying to glean personal info/data from you.

Adware is very often malicious and should be removed from your computer.

Go to http://www.download.com and download and install a program called AdAware Pro Se free edition. You can read the editors description, the tech evaluation, and user reviews on it if you like. It can be set to run at startup and it will update itself every day. Great little program for protection against malicious adware.

Adware is a type of virus. It is not as harmful as a virus but it will monitor what you are visiting and it really slows down your computer. Clean it delete it just get rid of it.

basically, what spyware and malware do is that they compromise your computers security, allowing others to hack in and retrieve personal information. they are also the cause for random ads popping up when your not surfing the internet. you should remove them immediately.
