Will the blind OSU hating people ever become objective and present sound thoughts on their opinions? I'm sure anyone with intelligence would respect good debate of topics if it wasn't just blind pro SEC propaganda. Give it up already, the North won! USC, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida, etc etc, they are ALL elite perenial teams...... yet it seems anytime any team from the SEC is "dissed" or snubbed, the world might as well have come to an end and somehow the Big 10 or the BCS is responsible for the "conspiracy". Boise State beat Oklahoma last year, Florida beat the buckeyes last year, thats why they play the game. Can someone just end the bandwagon hate machine and present some intelligent debate?

Ok, I don't necessarily HATE OSU. But I do dislike the Big 10 and OSU...especially this year because, quite frankly, the Big 10 is/was in a rebuilding year. I watched a lot of Big 10 games and most, if not all teams were running pretty slow and were playing mediocre. But that's not OSU's fault the problem is perception....

Last year OSU got crushed by spread offense team who was faster than OSU was, Florida. Then, the only team that was semi-fast they played this year...they lost too, Illinois. Now they are playing a "SEC powerhouse" so people are easily going to jump on the bandwagon and say that LSU is going to kill OSU. But not so fast...

I don't really like either team, but looking at them both...I think it's going to be a very good game if they both come prepared. Why? Because neither team has an amazing offense. Both, offensively are just so-so with one or two good players. Defensively is where their biggest strengths are. So it will be interesting to see which offense rises to the occassion.

Unfortunately, it will never end. Even if OSU wins the matchup you will have tons of people saying something like "The refs gave it away", or Tressel stole their plays, or the Buckeyes got two extra weeks rest (a laughable claim, by the way), or someone from LSU got hurt, or they were just too worn down from playing all the other powerhouse SEC teams, or that OSU may have beaten LSU, but definitely not Georgia or VT or OK, or USC, and that the pollsters were partisan to the Big Ten for putting them there. Or, they will just subconsciously deny the whole thing ever happened, because OSU "never deserved to be there in the first place" to have the opportunity.

Its really hard to respect Ohio State this season due to thier joke of a non-confrence schedule and the fact the Big 10 was so weak this season. However, having said that, no one else could close the deal and take care of business, get the wins in the big games, so OSU is as good a choice as we have for the BCS NC.

I dont think anyone questioned thier championship in 2002 because the Big 10 was tough, Michigan and Penn State were up that year and they played a tough schedule. They also had a relentless defense that held ranked teams to less then 14 points per game average.

Here is the deal.....add another team to the Big 10 and play a confrence championship game, and quit scheduling Troy and Kent State. Play a Boise State or Hawaii instead. but then again, USC doesnt want a piece of Boise State or Hawaii either.

Strength of Schedules

1. Ohio State T-48th
2. LSU 24th
3. Virginia Tech 3rd
4. Oklahoma 39th
5. Georgia T-25th
6. Missouri 13th
7. USC 80th
8. Kansas T-81st
9. West Virginia 47th
10. Hawaii 117th

OSU schedule was definitely not the toughest this year, but it was also not the easiest of the top teams either, so everyone needs to quit complaining about OSU not playing anyone and implying they get a free ride to the natl championship every year. At least OSU tries to schedule a big non-conf game every year - yes this year Wash turned out bad, but they were very good when OSU scheduled them several years ago. And dont forget they just completed two games against Texas, then have home- and home series against USC, Va Tech, Cal, Miami, and Oklahoma over the next 10 years. Ignorant fans like to say they have some cakewalk every year, but you should check your facts before you make yourself sound like such a dumba$$

And for Robert B.
If I look at teams LSU scheduled (La Tech, Tulane, Middle Tenn St) or Georgia (TROY, Western Carolina) just a couple examples - seems everyone else does the same thing

Unfortunately it won't end. It's the dark side of "fanhood". It happens to the Buckeyes, Trojans, Sooners and Tigers. It happens to the Red Sox and Yankees. It happens to the Colts and Pats, the Cowboys and the Packers. If you're a winner in modern sports, some group of people somewhere hates you. Some of these folks wear their hate a a badge of honor - what a great sense of perspective.

My advice is to either confront it (endlessly) or ignore it. But whatever you do, don't let the hating fools bring you down.

By the way, I do support the argument that the Big Ten is going through a period of weak play, but the choice of the Buckeyes for the championship game is not the fault of OSU. If you have to hate someone, it should be the BCS or all the voters in the various polls that rank them number 1.

Doesn't really matter if someone posts a question using actual facts the only response they get are fans saying LSU will destroy OSU.

Last night the hate seemed fairly evenly distributed between OSU and LSU. This morning however it very one sided towards OSU.

Anyway this is the year of the underdog and LSU is something like a 20 favorite in the game. SO....

OU is wondering what OSU is getting them for Christmas?

Also, one piece of advice for OSU fans... make sure that some tickets (say about 20,000 or so) don't get lost on their way to Ohio. That has been known to happen in the land of crawfish.

Oh... thats right... it was an adminstrative glitch.

Ohio State plays a weaker schedule than Kansas, has the same record, doesn't have to play in a conference championship, risking yet another loss, and squeaks into the #1 spot??????? PATHETIC! KU doesn't deserve it either, IMO, but there are several teams that do... Hawaii (let 'em prove it. Either way, they are the ONLY undefeated) OU, they are just that damn good. I could go on & on...
