A is the correct one
its called "clean coding"
you should always have the internal tags closed before the external ones close i.e. ...

tags are never capitalized or joined together like c and d
B is wrong simply because it closed the external before the internal

c and d are not correct tags. a and b would both work but a is more proper as you are closing the inside tags before the outside ones.

A is XHTML, B is HTML going to be rendered on IE :-), C is HTML, and D is invalid.
