She just likes to entertain you... (Well, at least she thinks she's entertaining you).

Dear magnet: first of all I would find it a compliment that your friend admires you. That being said. It is time you learn to communicate. So many of life's problems and there are many can be solved by communication. It is sometimes very difficult and perhaps you could write a few drafts and give her a letter. Bounce them off a parent or teacher before giving it to your friend. Start with the fact that you appreciate her friendship and tell her that certain behaviors she uses around you are threatening your friendship. List them and tell her you are telling her this because you do care about her not because you don't. It is very common for girls to talk too much. They are fun giddy and easily excitable. The fact is we all need to learn social skills like, not talking too much. Fist she needs to know she has a problem. You can help her with that. In the long run you are really helping her and are a valued person and friend.

With her being new she's probably trying to find a way to fit in and you are a networking source for her.Personally if you 2 are that close I would suggest taking her off to the side and explain how you feel, maybe start out of course w/how you are concerned w/hurting her feelings. If you can't bring yourself to talk to her maybe show her your post and replys you have received or show the replys 1st to lead her to your post.I feel for ya good luck on clearing the air and maintaining the closeness of your fragile friend.

Be honest with her and tell her how she make you feel, then give her an example of what she need to do and what you expect. Give her an ultimatum, if she doesn’t change its not your fault, is her, for not willing to comply.
Good Luck

You have to be a bit rude.....can't help. Just tell her that you don't like her shadowing you everywhere and participating in every topic during your conversations with others and so on. Just tell....you don't like her company ....and tell her to stay away from you .That's the only solution. I know it sounds quite rude. But, you have to be so to get rid of her .

immitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Find out what your common interests are and learn to drink the same brand of coffee or whatever she is on.

Just full out kiss her on the lips once out of nowhere and see how she reacts. Tongue optional. She'll either be so weirded out she'll never follow you around again or if she takes it well, you know how to get rid of her.
